The monster (an ooze called "The Blob" that absorbs people to grow bigger) is defeated by freezing it. OP is (probably?) asking why no zombie games make use of freezing as a means of killing the zombies.
The post has almost nothing to do with L4D2. The movie OP references isn't even a zombie movie.
