Worth it for single-player?
With the deep discount from the summer sale, I've turned my attention towards this game. However, I know its main draw is the multiplayer. How enjoyable would solo play be? Do mods make it more fun? I know there's one that tries to fix the bots.

A lot play singleplayer mode, and its where everyone should start. The fun is, in my opinion limited in singleplayer, but theres so many really wellmade customcampaign u can play nonstop from now til xmas and stil have some left- check out gamemaps.com dont use workshop for anything but skins n soundmods.. never for addons

At the current price its defo worth it. just buy l4d2.. NOT l4d.. l4d2 has all maps from l4d ported and add some nice new guns and few other items.

Single player is just the multiplayer Campaign mode with bots. Be warned, the bots are not very bright. Luckily you can download mods that change their behavior.

Regarding not getting Left 4 Dead, that's a point of open contention. IMO Left 4 Dead is better than Left 4 Dead 2, and worth whatever price it's going for. Yes, it's a bit dead, but it's much more solid. If you really don't care about bugs, level design, atmosphere, zombie design and just want grafix and moar stuph, then you can skip Left 4 Dead.

I.M.O Just Single Player is really limiting. For $5 you get SOOOO much more. But... I mean if you just want to play Single Player, then you have every right to. It does have it's good sides. You avoid the public game scene. It's not bad. But not that great either.

Single Player is real boring but there is an workshop addon that improve the AI system and mods can actaully be fun but also laggy.

You can even keep cheating if you play on a local server that you host... like someone.

HP by Tex <--- someone will remember that he was involved.

If a person keeps cheating, they are going to get banned from L4D 2. I have seen that HP. People can talk about it all they want. It's up to Valve to remove things like that. I don't see anyone getting banned from using that either.

This is your story.

&

This is your comment on cheat add-on --- "I have used this add-on since the start & I have not
been banned from L4D2 yet.

Learn to play instead of learning to cheat.

That is my story & I am sticking to it. I got that line from a song... don't remember which one.

Again I know how to play & will keep playing. Have a problem ? Complain to Valve if you want me gone. Or #Deal with it. Going to go play more public campaign games now.

It's still a lot of fun single player, I play it occasionally. The better bot mods do improve the bots significantly, but they're still kind of mediocre, especially once you hit expert. There's a lot of fun addon maps/custom campaigns that you can play single player.

Rayman's mutation mod holds a major key towards unlocking many joys of single-player varieties.

There are also tons of non-packaged (not grouped like RMM) mutations available on the workshop which offer very different experiences- for example, https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=162853075

Good. Time for you to keep your mouth shut. Should have done it LONG ago.... but oh well.

And I am still around playing public campaign games. I just finished rushing The Sacrifice. Good times.
