I would advise you stick to Expert, where it's notably easier. (Enemies take normal body damage + headshots still help + auras + less likely to attract a tryhard player) until you're on stable ground.
i personally play Expert for fun, not to tryhard. I think the only time I get real salty (trolls aside) is when someone refuses to learn. And trust me. There's a difference between a person who is clueless but willing to learn, and THAT guy who plays dumb and won't learn. They are the guys I'll just laugh at as they get disembowled by a hunter because they ran ahead thinking they are rambo, even in the middle of a horde.
Not being good enough is "no reason at all". (^.-)
The legacy of Participation Trophy Mentality.
The belief that just showing up is enough. Contributing to team success is optional. (>.<)
Hope you enjoy your stay.
But seriously OP, I'm not that good at the game and I know to stay away from EXPERT REALISM. You should be able to breeze through Hard mode before attempting that, but instead you dive right into that? I can infer that you must've got bodied hard
I already finished most maps on normal difficulty so I would like to finish them once more on the highest difficulty. I don't deserve to play on that difficulty unless I grind hundreds of more hours into this game? I really don't get why some players treat this game like some competetive E Sport where only the very best players are permited to play on expert-realisim. Don't you realize how stupid and bs that actually is? Sure, maybe I'm just a burden to the team by not being a pro with 5k hours, but this is still a cooperative game and not competetive like cs go. People should help people with less experience instead of barating and kick them for not being at their level. When you play a game where one tiny mistake makes you labed as a troll and get kicked before you can even say "why?" you know it's way too toxic and not fun. I'm willing to learn, and for the most part I learn from my mistakes and avoid making them, but apparently I'm not "worthy" to play this game until I dedicade my entire life playing the same 10 maps over and over again until I'm permited to play on expert-realism, ok.
Again, where you doing good or not?
The thing is, there is a happy medium between "pro with 5k hours" and 20 hours, which is- by your own words mind you- "barely" anything. Especially since you also mention not being particularly good at FPS...
If you are going into the hardest difficulty in the game with so little experience, you should expect to have trouble. And since this is a team based co-op game, you are also hurting your team. Quite a fair bit in fact.
Now, some people don’t mind carring others - I don’t, especially if they are willing to learn...
But some other people don’t want to do that. And honestly, can you blame them?
You should probably spend sometime on lower difficulties till they are too easy, or play Expert Realism but with bots...
Solution: Get your own group of friends.
Older players play to win flawlessly. And they see you as an obstacle to achieve that. You slow them down, you don't match their skill and they don't want you to ruin their game.
So, get your own friends and play with them.
Yh, I think playing with friends might be the only reasonable solution in my case. If the elitist randoms would rather only play with people who replay the exact same map for the 300th time instead of being helpful to the beginners then I have no choice other than just playing with buddies. The worst part in my case was the fact that I was the one who created the lobby and then I got kicked out after 1 hour of playing. If I'm kicked for not being good enough in other peoples games that's fine, but too bad some people are so damn toxic they kick you from your own created lobbies, smh.
Bro sthu. There's a difference between helping a new player and a new player that's WAY out of his depth. You really think someone's gonna bear with you as you struggle through the hardest game mode? I got 50 hours and I don't ♥♥♥♥ with that difficulty. You yourself said you're not a FPS aficionado so you can't be that good that you can play at that level after 20 hours, even if it's on the same map.
Also your lobby doesn't belong to you, stop acting like you it was hijacked from you or something.
