Dam It was never finished and any fan-made completion integrated into the game officially would be considered heresy.
"Dam It" originally belonged to Turtle Rock Studios... like the original survivors.
They'd have to get the rights and permission.
Even when we got "Cold Stream" there still had to be changes.
That was why we got "Missing Content Fix" which people often misunderstand.
Content had to be cut from Cold Stream because they couldn't put sources to it.
So that mod was simply only what was removed from Cold Stream.
It helped in a lot of custom maps if it used the old beta Cold Stream assets.
As they say: art is never finished, only abandoned.
As for the "Dam It", yeah I agree, deserved to be part of the based game, however, a rework (or even re-create from scratch) is required due to its unfinished state.
Ownership issue... if I remember right, TRS states that Valve owns them, however, I am not sure.
Valve would probably have to get permission.
It would make more sense to have perhaps a gondola at the end of the Dam as the rescue.
Another campaign really needed is one to bridge Death Toll and Dead Air. While the first 2 maps of The Sacrifice were originally intended for this, those are no longer viable options. Somehow the survivors need to make it to the Highrise (cut survival map) and jump down to the Greenhouse using probably a Life-Net thrown down as the rescue.
Also, yeah I am fine with a short Highrise Map being added but Valve should be consulted maybe even have one of the Original L4D2 mappers help the Team Work on it otherwise there will be no direction and the finalie might be too cringe or not make anysense ["LOL LETS JUMP OFF A BUILDING GUIZE!!! THIS TOTALLY IS REALISTIC AND NOT LITERALLY JUMPING THE SHARK!!!"]. Honestly it would be best not to touch it without Valve.
Also add Suicide Blitz 2 as a non-canon map its just too great to not be enjoyed by casual non workshop downloading players and I really want to see constant versus matches on it... [Though Finalie "Saferoom" will need to be minorly adjusted in Versus to actaully have a Saferoom door to prevent Infinite Stalling by Survivors.]
Maybe get in contact with the Original Devs to make one last Update to the Campaign before Official Release. Not much needs to be changed especially with the Map Itself but optimization and more versus balance would be nice. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=128424524&searchtext=Suicide+Blitz+2
If Damn it and Suicide Blitz 2 gets added, this game will become alot more objectively fun. And would pave the way for more and more Great Custom Maps to be added into the Official Game so everyone can enjoy it and people can play Versus on it Constantly to freshen up the Map Rotation.
Otherwise i still hope that this things been reworked by community and maybe one day we've get another cut-restore update but for l4d2.
