How large is your Left 4 Dead 2 addons folder?
The original size of the (my) Left 4 Dead 2 folder is 13.26 GB (I've heard some different numbers around there, so I'm not entirely sure- it may vary from person to person for some reason).

The size of my Left 4 Dead 2 folder now is 16.3GB. So I have about 3.04GB worth of addons for the game (that's how large my addons folder is). I have 138 addons right now.

So, how large is your Left 4 Dead 2 addons folder right now? If any..

I'm just curious and figured this was an interesting question worth asking. The reason I'm asking is because I just did some 'spring cleaning' on my workshop subscriptions and decided to check up on how much disc space Left 4 Dead 2 along with all the addons was taking. I assume I just removed a lot. I think I remember seeing it at 18.3GB or something like that, I may just be exaggerating. But, this is it for now. Thank you for reading and replying.

Hmmmm... don't know numbers wise for storage space. But I have only 3 different add - ons.
My addons folder is 7.20 GB.

you didnt have to do the math.
just needed to go to the addons folder right click and check properties.

workshop 12.1 GBS
l4dmaps 4.57 GBs (other sites too)
AND growing.

its 16.7 GB total. but i broke it down for you.
i really need to clean up my addons then. lol

the whole game is 29.4 GBs with addons.

Well, I chose to do the math myself. I didn't really 'need' to do it for the question I asked. I originally wanted to know how large my L4D2 folder was without the addons, some people have different sizes for some reason. So I checked my addons folder with the properties. All I did was subtract the two to find out what I wanted to know. There wasn't really any way to find it out. I didn't think breaking apart my workshop and l4dmaps was worth it though, so I just bundled the two. Thought the question was interesting and worth it, so I decided to ask. And thanks for reading and sharing.

Current addon folder- 20.4 gb with 124 files. Don't remember how big the one on my Linux install is, probably comparable. My archive is 84.1 gb with 363 files.

I forgot to mention how many files I have. The reason is that for workshop items, it creates a .vpk and .jpg file for each (the .jpg files are like thumbnails for the addons section in-game, you can open them to see). It says I have 216 addons in my workshop folder, but half of them are just .jpg files. I decided to just cut the workshop file number in half. Including ALL of my addons, I have 138 addons right now... if I did the math correctly, I think I did.

Just curious, and this is for the guys with a buttload of add-ons (ya, I'm looking at you sophia hapgood), does it take an extremely long time for all those add-ins to load when you start L4D2? I only have a couple of campaigns, as far as add-ins go, and I noticed it takes about 3-5 seconds (going off the song stuttering 3-4 times and the loading icon doing a few revolutions) for them to load. I have limited the number of add-ons I have because I like my game to load quickly, and to avoid the conflicts/incompatibilities that comes with a modified game. But vanilla, although it is very good, isn't my favorite ice cream (gimme rocky road, hands down). I know I could figure out which mods don't play well together and eliminate the problem child. That just leaves the issue of load times as a concern. So how long does it take for a massive collection of add-ins to load up before you can start playing?

Yeah, I guess I'm also curious as to how long it might take for your 20.4GB folder to load in-game. It'll depend on your storage drive, but just a number would be fine. My 3.04GB probably takes less than 20 seconds. I think the largest I've had is probably 5.50GB of addons, so it seems that Left 4 Dead 2 is pretty good with loading these things. Chapter loading is pretty much the same as vanilla. Garry's Mod is a whole different story, so I just decided to remove almost all of my addons for that game and stick with other hosted servers. After every so often I clean out my subscriptions and l4dmaps. I also prefer my modified game over the vanilla base game. Granted, both are good. Why not make it a bit better ;)

It takes just a few seconds for me. I am running off a SSD, but when I had the full 80 gb off a regular hard drive it didn't take much longer- it's not a noticeable increase with the more addons you have. Not sure how conflicts work for game mods, but they can be ignored with maps, at least in my experience.

3.72 GB, 106 items, with others in a remote folder to (marginally) improve loading times.
My addons folder size is 100.5 gb's. Add in the 13 gigs for the game its 113.5 gigs. I keep multiple versions of maps incase some one has a different version then me.
