Versus unplayable
Does anyone else feel this way about versus games? Every single time I try to play it ( I just started versus to learn basics in it) people want to kick you and call noob? I mean no ♥♥♥♥ you are noob if you can't play but why do everyone have to kick someone a bit new to a certain portition of the game. Share your thoughts and give tips for this topic.

Think of pub versus like a game of basketball being played in the park.

Are they NBA players? No.
Are they most likely better than your average joe? Probably.

If you had no idea what you were doing other than you dribbling a ball in your driveway (campaign) would you really expect to join the game, guarantee a loss for whatever team youre on, and expect for them to want you there or even let you continue to play when they could find someone better and have an actual good game?

If you were really deadset on playing in this pick-up game of basketball you would take it on yourself to find ways to get better without ruining their game.

Guides
Youtube instruction videos/ tourney matches
Custom maps like charger leveling and hunter training
Find Noob friendly groups
After you have a few hundred hours experience in versus join Left2Learn
Outside sources such as aim400kg to improve your overall aim
Making noob friends in campaign to form all friends games
Hentai rape servers to practice infected
10v10 servers where no one gives a ♥♥♥♥

Theres more than that and none of it requires you bringing down what could be a good interesting game until you selfishly decide its your classroom.

You are the problem the OP describes, and your analogy shows it.

I have never been in a pick up game of basketball where anyone even... CARES who wins. If you, and everyone like you, ventured out of your cave to play with actual people in the real world, you'd fairly quickly hear the phrase "It's ust a game, chill"... or get your lights deservedly punched out for acting that way.

You could try out the single VS mutation in the workshop to practice VS mode against bots.
I've been using it since I'm new to VS.

Because most players including me have to deal with new players in versus constantly on my team. Which ends up being a festival on Survivor team of how long i can carry 3 other players shooting the witch with a Assualt rifle/SMG or running infront of SI and stay in the same spot for 5 minutes.

Then on the Infected team they just run in plain sight and get killed, whats even worse is when they get tank and run into fire and miss hits constantly.

Heres a tip: Train with bots or use custom maps to train on

People bought this to have play and have fun, not to MLG the ♥♥♥♥ out of every game, you people have destroyed normal versus with this type of attitude, expecting people to read guides for left4dead, TF

PC version never used to be like this, console always have (kicking if you don't have achievements etc) - My theory is that you all came from there.

Yes, I concur, hardcore gamers have sucked the fun out of games.

Poor noobs...can't play a match :(
Ahenah Aug 11, 2015 @ 2:12pm
Just to point out I have played a lot of l4d2 in OTHER MODES not VERSUS. I have heard and talked to other players that they also have the same problem. Every other game type is really fun with the people who are playing it but then I started to get myself into versus and boy what a mistake it was. The only way I have thus far enjoyed versus was when I played it with full team full of my friends. I find it sad to see already someone telling play with bots since if you play with bots 100h it won't get you near as far as playing with 100h with real people.
El Fuerte Aug 11, 2015 @ 2:14pm
If you don't find VERSUS fun then don't play it. You said it yourself "buy games to have fun".

I didn't say anything like "buy games to have fun". Plus I said I have found it fun with FRIENDS, which is a shame you can't do it with other people online. If you try to go play versus with that casual game kinda style just to pass time you usually won't find a game like that since that MLG stuff pops right in your face. It's just something people should realize not all are elite players and the only way to learn the most important stuff to play versus is by simply playing it again and again and again.

Then simple solution: get 3 friends and make a team. There you go, you will never get banned.

Noobs get kicked because players already know that they will leave the match.
Wanna know How? They die, blame the team and leave.

And unlike many games out there like Counter Strike and such...in this game 1 single dead noob can end the match in a matter of 10 seconds. Ruining the fun for everybody else.
I get the point, I play lol also so I know one guy can ruin the game. That friend team also works but the whole idea of this post was since sometimes you have to play alone and ofc it's a better experience to play multiplayer. In l4d2 I don't see that if one guy isin't that good it dosen't mean the game is over for your team. Surely you might have bigger chances at losing but that's what a game is you either win or lose.
Tabby3456 Aug 11, 2015 @ 5:03pm
in versus there is no such thing as the best player in the world (cause thare will always be one)
but if theres no one smart to catch up with the team or do some accident there not gonna take it lightly
Lindh Aug 11, 2015 @ 5:30pm
Well listen to people stay with others and observe what they do. It's no fun at all playing with people who lag behind a mile and have no clue how to use char except for when you kick them. Playing as inf is even worse, people spawning miles behind and no synced attacks.
