PS3 controller for L4D2 on Mac
I bought this game expecting that since the PS3 controller works for Borderlands 2 it would work for L4D2. Unfortunately, I was wrong. It wasn't as simple as connecting the PS3 controller using bluetooth and going right to playing the game. I've looked at older threads to see if someone had come up with a solution to fix it, but that only gave me a few things to try that didn't end up working. I've used Gamepad Companion and Controllermate. Gamepad Companion worked, but the right stick to look around would not work. I couldn't figure out how to use Controllermate.

I have not found anything or heard about any new solutions on how to fix it this year, so I kind've just figured why not repost to see if anyone has something new to try. Greatly appreciate it.

Try using the big picture mode to configure your controller, it usually works

Never thought about that. I'll give it a try. Thanks a lot.

It should have worked out of the box, but it think the controller is support is configured fo 360 controllers by default so either is that or you may be missing something

Yeah, I tried setting the controls up in big picture mode and launching Left 4 Dead 2 from there, but it didn't work. Even tried configuring the controls in the game. I also tried launching from the box, but that didn't work either. I'm not sure what to try next. This is getting ridiculous.
Why would you want to handicap yourself by using a gamepad? The PC version of the game does not have auto-aim/aim assist like the console versions.

I've already tried using the normal controls and I dislike it. I'm much more used to using a gamepad. I know most people don't understand that, but not everyone likes to use the normal controls.

last hour been trying to configure that gamepad companion. at first was ok.... but when i press left i move right. so i change that on gamepad configure, what happens, the cursor messes up moving all over the screen and makes a weird buzz noise. in game you either melee or just look up at the sky.

You need to configure your controller and force it on in big picture mode, btw you need to exit the game first then configure your controller so that it saves the changes.

Hopefully it helps
