People we don't know are joining our friends-only games
I don't know how they're doing it, but for three games in a row now, random players with steam names in foreign languages have been joining friends-only versus games I've been playing with my girlfriend. Neither of us have added any of them as a friend, they have private profiles, and the last person we couldn't even block. They've used slurs and frankly they're making us both nervous. I don't know what's going on, we don't know how it's happening, and the fact that it's been happening for a couple days now is kind of scary. The first steam name was in Arabic, the second in Russian, and the third in Chinese. If anyone could help with this, that would be fantastic. I've got screenshots to prove it, too.

You can join other people's friends-only games by using the server browser.

Is there any way to block a particular user? Because it looks like it's the same person.

also, since your profile is public they can simply see you're in-game, click that and automatically join your friends-only game.
I never have this problem myself. Either attempt to kick them, or just end the game and set it to private. 10-1, it's probably just really, really bad griefers and trolls, so just ignore em. Or, just incapacitate them and leave em to die and don't rescue them. Yeah, it sounds like a bad idea, but if they keep rejoining, just rinse and repeat, and they should stop showing up. Or you know, have a friend who's a troll/griefer themselves help you out. Just my two cents.

Yep, there's a 'join game' button on your profile and it's public, so anyone can do so. People can also join your game through groups you're in.

Yes, go to their profile and block them, it usually prevents them from joining aagin.

Doesn't work, I've had them blocked since their second attempt apparently.

have you actually tried making your profile private so they won't be able to trace your game that way?

You can make local server and ban/kick the person from your onw made server.
Otherwise if you don't know how to use console commands by kicking someone I suggest using Workshop item called admin system.

Try using a LAN based server through a program lik Hamachi or Evolve.

It doesn't matter if you make a friends-only lobby, if you play a custom map on a third party server you'll have randoms joining since the server is public.
I think this might even be true for normal official maps on official servers.

Basically if you want a friends-only game, host your own game/dedicated server.
