I restarted mine, and nothing happened. Still not loading any of my mods. I think this is something to do with the workshop being down. The weird thing is that the workshop pages still function, but the mods themselves aren't loading...?
There is a little trick you can do:
Open l4d2 folder >> steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead 2/left4dead2/ and open the Addons folder.
Now you may see there some custom addons you downloaded from other sites like gamebanana and others which you installed manually. Open up Workshop folder - obviously those are addons from steam workshop which installs automatically when you subscribe to them.
Now just move all files from "workshop" folder back in "addons" folder. The pictures and addons have the same name, pictures will help you identify each addon and its functionality. Rename addons and delete pics if you want.
Forgot to mention - you need to unsubscribe to items you subscribed and delete all files from workshop because mods will automatically download everytime you launch the game even if you delete them.
Ta-daaa! All addons loads instantly. Like manual ones.
