Minigun jumping glitch
I had someone explain to me in-game that the jumping glitch is done by holding jump, then using the gun and "looking" left or right. The most I can do is send myself backwards.

It would be great if someone had the mental fortitude to actually explain how the hell this is done.

What keys are you pressing? WHEN are you pressing those keys? Are you looking in a direction or are you STRAFING in a direction? What is the timing?

Believe it or not, there are zero text-based instructions or youtube videos (mostly some dumbass showing that he can do it, but not HOW he is doing it)

Getting tired of watching exploitards jump all over the place while offering zero explanation of how this is done. If I can't do it, then I will make sure no one can.

Got pissed off so much I considered placing a support ticket with Valve to have this fixed since I couldn't do it, and supervillain me, if I can't do it, then no one will.

Right. Figured it out. So here's how it's done. Description using the No Mercy finale "Rooftop".

People be using the minigun glitch to jump crazy distances to either side, either ending up on the adjacent building to the right without running across the pipes or landing on the pipes to the left of the primary structure. Looks like a hack of some kind, but it's an in-game exploit.

When you do this, you have to be kinda pointed in the direction you want to go (in a diagonal, like looking diagonally to the right at the pipes between the two adjacent buildings or looking to the left in the general direction of that generator just to the front of and to the left of the primary building) when you do this, but you have to already be holding spacebar then tap E twice in rapid succession (where E is the default "use" button). You'll go flying to the left or right depending on which diagonal direction you're facing when you do this. You can't be holding forward when you do it, and you should let go of your jump button that you've been holding. When do you release the jump button? A split-second after you tap E the second time. The better timing you have, the farther you'll go.

THAT Is how you explain how to do something.

that's been fixed so long ago man don't be getting people excited about something that's already gone!

I figured it out and no, it's not fixed. I can post a video of me doing it in about five minutes.

Not a fraction as complicated as you make it out to be. The action that makes this possible is running at the gun at an angle and engaing it. This makes the character model shift at a highly accelerated rate as the gun rapidly pivots due to the angle of engagement. Pressing e while this happens disengages you while still moving at the rapid rate. What then makes you launch is timing the next jump and effectively bunnyhoping but with the insanely boosted momentum.

Nothing else you mentioned matters.
