Can't get autoexec.cfg to work

I'm still dealing with some nonsense config issue that makes my game constantly pause in single player and on local host, so every time I want to play, I have to manually put "sv_pausable 0" into the console several times throughout every campaign.

So far nothing has worked, I cannot even get autoexec to work, it doesn't execute no matter what I do. So once again I need help.

I already tried using launch option with multiple different commands, it doesn't work at all. The only thing I can think of is to bind the command to a key.

If your game is being paused randomly then a better solution would be to determine which config file is causing this issue and disable it, autoexec.cfg is only executed once at the start of your game, it doesn't get executed while playing or during level changes so whatever faulty config is pausing your game, autoexec.cfg won't solve it.

Since you say you are hosting locally/singleplayer, can you check your listenserver.cfg in /left4dead2/cfg directory, and make sure it doesn't contain any cvars that you don't want?

Omg thank you so much, I took a look and found none other than sv_pausable 1, I have no idea why it's there, but I changed it to 0 and it's fixed! :D

No problem mate :), you can comment or remove that line completely to prevent it from being applied on every map change, since listenserver.cfg is executed each time a new level loads.

Might as well have it execute the opposite to make sure it never pauses again xD

what anyway I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it but the autoexec doesn't work for me, and I don't know what happened helpppppppppppp
