Source Engine lighting ain't that great in the first place to be real with you.
But if you can't see, that's a you problem.
Minecraft does the same thing(especially if you use shaders, and honestly aren't even good unless you scare easily.
We can play Nightmare together if you are interested...
I was interested in Winter Aesthetics mod, but when i tested it in game - that's totally not what he described in the mod description. He never mentioned (in nov 2024) terrible footsteps snow-crunching sounds that plays even when walking on concrete, the total removal of post process effects (like the "fog" that hides distance, which makes all maps other than in his screenshots to look ugly) and a gay scripts that for example made survivor "slip" uncontrollably on the edges of the roof on No Mercy campaigns (and fall) , because he said "its realistic". Not even speaking about how this mod conflicted with every other mod to run.
So when in december 2024 it got peak comment complaints and critics he started to troll everyone, but when one star of rating dropped he suddenly wiped every unwanted comment to keep things "positive" and put proper description afterwards. Some lazy weeb modder, what do you expect.
and when you said conflicting, as in, the modpack by it'self or with other mods you had while having the mods from the modpack?
The mods that the author makes are not for you but for himself and for whoever that may also end up liking it. Not all mods are made for the consumer in mind.
so you're excusing his behavior regardless?
Well, I think my response about this will be the same as my old response. It's "Take it or leave it". I'm not on the nighmare author's side, as mods are supposed to be that way.
- There are lots of COD mods but you don't like? Leave them.
- There are lots of anime mods but you don't like either? Leave them.
- There are some cosmetic mods that suit your taste? Take it
People can pick mods they like freely, & modders can make mods as they like. & everything is for free as well. So, why should you have some headache over some mods, when you can simply just leave them & look for other mods you like? Just move on, get your preferred mods & enjoy the game. Playing this game should be that simple
