You say it as if he was using aimbot or console commands to clear all infected. Even with a bot improvement mod, it's still better to play with real humans who can make proper decisions and adapt moment to moment. It's not "cheating" so much as it's giving yourself some semblance of a chance as opposed to playing solo with vanilla bots.
If OP had earned the achievement with a team of 3 other veteran players who carried them through, you'd likely argue that was perfectly fine. However, that would be far easier and require far less effort than playing solo with a bot improvement mod. The latter has more merit to it, making the achievement more meaningful.
If you're incapable of feeling any sense of pride in your accomplishments without having made things needlessly painful and difficult for yourself, then you're allowed to do that. Just like how if OP is unable or unwilling to play with other people and just wants to get the achievement on their own, they're allowed to do that too.
Most people would probably recognise that wasting hours of your time restarting the campaign due to deeply rooted problems with the games vanilla survivor AI is a pretty dumb thing to do just to 'prove' you're good at the game. If you're ok with having your time wasted in that manner, that's completely fine. But you probably shouldn't treat it like a pissing contest.
If you spent less time trying to change how other people play in singleplayer and more time actually improving at the game, you probably wouldn't be missing so many achievements either
"If" is a keyword here
No this is worst, he's not salty about the "cheating" per se, if I was to make a fair observation. This is about achievements
in 2025
i'd rather use a mod that makes singleplayer far less frustrating than wait another decade for valve to update their vanilla bot ai
Let me stop you right there. Who the heck is talking about achievements? Get back to the point. i literally skipped through the rest of your rambling on this one.
Dude literally cheated his way through. He chose the hardest difficulty the vanilla game has, and ended up using cheats. Get back to reality.
No one is treating it like a pissing contest. You just show up and accuse people of stuff for your own benefit. Does that work often?
Again, i'll make this easy for you: He chose the hardest difficulty the vanilla game has, and ended up using cheats. Then he came back to give advice on how to complete the campaign. My guy, this is a joke. You just didn't get it yet, since you're hellbent on being aggressively defensive.
I'm not trying to change anything. You're just reaching out for whatever u can at this point.
i couldn't care less about achievements. i play for fun, not for clout. You'd get that by actually checking my achievement data thoroughly. They were all "achieved" by playing the game normally, quite some time ago. i didn't even complete survivals because i find survivals boring.
And the versus ones were indirectly done by helping other people get their own achievements.
The one game i can think of that i have all the achievements is Wizard of Legend and all of them were done playing the game normally.
For context, once again: This person has also got into arguments with me in the past and is a big friend of the first person that replied to me, so here he is "hero to the rescue" style.
What? WHAT?
The bot AI did get upgraded from l4d1. And again with the TLS update.
if it isn't enough for you, then it's your own skill issue and that's fine. But don't act like it's the bot's fault.
AGAIN, putting words in my mouth... I don't have issues with people cheating in singleplayer or in multiplayer (as long as i'm not there).
What i do have an issue with, is cheating after asking for advice on how to complete a campaign. And also an issue with someone having the nerve to give advice on the same thread that he admitted cheating, as if that person had proper experience to give advice on the matter.
Everything was said in the first replies, but here i am... Repeating myself.
Again, i don't understand where you all are getting that whole "achievement issue" thing. I have not mentioned achievements at all (nor do i have issues with people cheating to get them).
mr "Average damage to teammates: 328.00", i should remind you this is a team co-op game
Ok, this will be the last time i indulge any of you:
Those stats mean nothing. If you have played as many hours as i have, you are bound to play on modded servers. You can shoot a single bullet and it will do 1 million damage to a survivor and he will have 100 million health. i'm exaggerating a bit with the "million" part, but those that know these type of games, know.
I also indulge in messing around (consensually) with people i know. For example, having a round (usually more) of PvP in the saferoom where we can just all respawn there upon team death. Even the last surviving team mate will throw a molotov at his feet just to respawn us all.
My "Most damage done to team mates" is "7,849 (on Expert)". Do you think this is even normally doable? You have to go out of your way to achieve such numbers.
For reference, i checked one person's stats from this thread and he has "Most damage done to team mates: 67,111 (on Expert)". That's the same as killing one survivor 167 times in one single game. Dude had a game where he probably killed more survivors than zombies... i jest though, i believe the story behind it is a curious one.
But ye.. Nice going at cherry picking my stats, just to validate your own lack of arguments.
Even my finales survived are messed up because i make it my mission to suicide at the end (my favourite being in No Mercy, jumping out of the building once the team is in the helicopter).
Dang, most of my content here is just defending myself against made-up statements. Manipulation is the word of the day, i guess.
I wish I were that good.
lol
i'm out again, i just felt like pointing out that OP is a cheater would be even funnier the second time.
Ah, i was under the misconception that he was a legit skilled player since OP said "i wish i was as good as him".
lol it's even funnier now.
