Just because it hasn't been a free weekend for 2 years might not mean that there will never be on again, but it's a pretty strong indicator.
Doubt Valve cares. And if it really bothers you that much, you can always use SAM.
How does that help if you need someone playing the game on a free weekend (which only Valve can do)?
I believe he's confusing "Good Guy Nick" with "Valve Gift Grab - 2011".
Even if that statement were true (it's not), in this instance how does acquiring the Good Guy Nick achievement indicate one is skilled?
Yeah, and do you know what would happen if they did another free weekend? You and a few others might get it, but without a doubt some would miss it, and some of those unfortunate individuals would inevitably create a thread requesting a free weekend in order to get the achievement. It's never ending. They should simply remove it.
It suggests nothing of the sort. Considering the bugs still left in the game, the lack of moderation for this game's workshop and forum, and just the overall obvious neglect by Valve when it comes to this game and it's predecessor, it's safer to assume that they were simply lazy and left the achievement in. This doesn't mean you necessarily should assume that, but it seems more likely given the evidence.
No, I'm saying that given the fact there it's been over two years (again, IIRC) since the last free weekend, that it is unlikely they'll do another. No one who comes here will ever know with certainty whether or not they'll do another free weekend in the future. Maybe if L4D3 is announced/released, but that's just pure speculation.
I know you were joking about the Valve employee thing. I said what I said because they don't come here, meaning they'll never see this thread and you'll never get an actual definitive answer to your question.
