-heapsize left 4 dead 2
Can you tell me what the heapsize launch command does? I know that if you write it, it will allocate additional memory to mods, but what exactly does this command do? Why does everyone write -heapsize 750000 when the maximum the game supports is -heapsize 2096999? Why don't people write the maximum supported by the game? Does this command have any negative consequences and what are the positive ones?

The truth is I don't know and I would like to see it, but according to my experience when I set a -Heapzise greater than 750000 the game runs without any sound

You can check for yourself when you set the -heapsize 2096999 value higher, although by 1 piece the game no longer works as it should in the main menu

Sure, there is a solution 👀. The developers need to port the game to 64-bit.😎🫠

Valve said they release 64bit update right after Riccochet 2 release so it should be quite soon.

I haven’t heard anything about such statements from Valve, so I can’t say anything. Moreover, as far as I know, all the "old" Valve games are currently supported by enthusiastic fans.

Linux + proton allocate a ramdisk type swapfile (it's probably kernel level); I wonder if this has any effect on it.
