why i can't play with friends in other countries

Depends where they are... and where you are. but usually there's no problem doing so.

Depends on what you play on local servers will be VERY laggy if you and your friend live very far away e.g:Green land and Australia
this will be the same in anyothers or if local server is hosted by someone in middle of the 2 counterys will be less laggyer (hopefully)

Had someone on my friend's list from China try to connect to a japanese server we were in and he couldn't connect either. I don't think this is a problem for all Chinese, although I don't honestly know... just haven't heard anyone complain about it.

What is your version of the game?

Purchased and downloaded from the US. We were in the Japanese server because we're from 3 - 4 different countries across the globe. I think it should still work with other versions of the game though.

As far as I know, they're all the same besides having no gore if bought in Australia and Germany.
