Why do all the infected target Ellis in the intro? Do they hate hicks? do they love him?

here is all the evidence to show how much they hate/adore him

0:50 a Jockey chases after him and pounds him onto a nearby car
0:59 a Spitter creeps up on him really slowly like a weirdo and spits on him
1:50 a Charger grabs him and breaks his back
2:02 Ellis defends himself from a rogue police officer to avoid ending up on LiveLeak
2:03 some random infected steals his gun
2:06 a Smoker starts licking him (Ellis is clearly not into it. This is bordering on harassment)
2:08 as soon as he is vulnerable, a couple of commons start trying to touch him (again, he is clearly not enjoying it)
2:27 a Boomer on the ground floor is looking in his general direction. This is an unmistakable sign of aggression
2:46 the Tank ignores Coach and runs straight at Ellis for some reason
2:52 several commons are literally trying to break through the glass to get to him

so... which is it? Do they want to kill him? Or do they admire him and want to get as close as possible for an autograph and selfie?

Because he's "bulliable" . In real life, bullies usually target people who are vulnerable & have the best expressions when bullied, & on L4D2 Ellis was one of them (Louis was one on L4D1) as he has funny voicelines when caught by special infected . If you notice it, special infected are like a group of bullies . & I think it also affects the game more or less, like, when playing as Ellis or Louis, somehow the luck seems to get worse when meeting special infected.

1:28 The Witch gets alerted by Louis's light and shot at by Bill. Despite being shot, she targets Louis
1:46 the Smoker tries to lick Louis, but misses and gets Bill instead
2:29 Louis gets pinned by a Hunter
2:37 the single bullet Louis fires triggers a car alarm
3:13 lets be honest, the Tank is probably just chasing Louis here
3:40 the Tank throws a rock at Louis even though he was hardly doing anything and there were at least 2 other easier targets
4:10 Louis says they made it, when in fact they had not made it, thus cursing the group with 100 years of misfortune
4:25 the curse has already begun: Louis's words alone caused hundreds of infected to materialise out of thin air

Btw I suddenly remember about how Rochelle calls Ellis sometimes when using "Look". "Hey, hee-haw" . I wonder if special infected are also racists, & they target him because he's a hee-haw guy... . But charger seems to be the same as Ellis, from his clothes. Probably charger is a bully type of hee-haw that thinks of himself as a boss & picks on smaller guys

The same goes to Louis. It's kind of weird to see how tank threw a rock at him on the video

the charger is canonically Ellis's brother, but i agree, the infected are clearly racist against southerners. quite disgusting that valve would willingly include this in their game
