- cost about 1 cent each, very affordable
- easy to carry around since they're small
- easy to find at any hardware store or similar place
- never come undone
- an idiot can still use them
- various other uses
Think about this from the perspective of a random survivor who needs to attach a flashlight to a gun they've just found on the street. Odds are they don't have a light that attaches to the rails properly, so they need to improvise. Cable ties are easy to find, easy to use, and well worth carrying, so it makes sense why so many guns would have them. Tape is another good option, but would wear out a lot faster.
1.) cheap: cost wise they are really dirt cheap. get low on them go to any dollars store buy more.
2.) easy to break out low brain cell bad guy who has no clue how easy it break out of them, lock finger together, then move hands up or down they break snap/ easy.
you can carrier 5 hands cuff vs plastic tie straps 100s of them
