playing with friends in another continent.

so i moved away from asia to europe recently. im thinking of tryna convince my friends to return to l4d2. but the matter of ping is an issue. does the "best dedicated server" option find a server that resides between me and my friends so that all of us get the same ping? or is it only best for me and extremely high ping for my friends?
i wanna atleast resolve that issue before even attempting to talk about l4d2

ping is based on how far you are from another player so doesn't matter which server you use, my only advice is that whichever one of you has better/fastest connection should host...won't be smooth depending on how high the ping is but still might mitigate any lag that might happen

I play with some friends from different regions and it's usually smooth (I move between Jordan/France every year or so), I have fiber and I host local almost always mostly to use admin system to quickly ban any trolls that might join...but I think you're better off using official (not sure if best available is better) !
