B4B characters are better than in L4D. (Comparison of characters)
B4B is a successor to L4D. it's essentially just another game kind of like L4D but different to an extent. an evolution, a direct improvement of L4D games and if turtle rock still had L4D IP, then it would just be another l4d game that they'd make. the thing is, i don't consider l4d characters to be anything super interesting or unique, i think they are overrated. because for example, zoey, the reason people seem to like her is because it's only somewhat attractive girl in the game unlike rochelle that just isn't as attractive in how she looks due to her visible factors. but zoey is kinda cheesy and honestly isn't attractive on an ultimate scale. it's just she is an only female character one would prefer to play as.

then another character, bill, he's alright, but it's just an old vietnam guy. louis is a generic office worker type and also doesn't look that good in terms of his visible features, even though red tie does make him stand out. francis? well i guess he is kinda humorous, buuut... he kinda grows old.

then there are l4d characters, we already touched rochelle, she isn't pretty and isn't interesting, she is also forgettable, her phrases and voice actor just weren't right. ellis is fine but like... goofy in a sense. but idk, i have mixed feelings.

then there's coach, i'm not sure, he seems kinda realistic in a sense? but he is still not as cool as people think because he legit doesn't have any cool factors about him other than he sings once, but it's just annoying.

the only best character in the game is Nick, he is a good character because he is just super cool and can behave and speak in cool ways and doesn't like other bad characters. really just a guy stuck in an awful scenario around characters that just aren't as good.

how do b4b characters compare? sure, nick might top all of them, but those characters seem like people who... you know... people who would survive an apocalypse essentially? because in l4d1 and 2 you can't really tell that those people would be good enough to take on many zombies, but in b4b they all seem prepared and very ready and militaristic in a sense, but not without a style, you know? they seem experienced, like those are the people who "make sense" to survive an apocalypse. in l4d that is not the case, that's why i say it.

what i don't like about b4b is enemy designs, i think enemies in b4b are disgusting. of course they are zombies, but they are just more disgusting than in l4d and i don't like that.

what do you think about characters in l4d?

The character designs and dialogue in L4D are unique. I played B4B on gamepass and although it was a good attempt but TRS, the game felt completely off. The characters are not memorable and their cloths is way to clean for an apocalypse
b4b doesent have coach

I don't consider Back 4 Blood as a successor to Left 4 Dead 2. It's just another 4-person co-op shooter with no connection to the Left 4 Dead series

i think even rochelle is better than the entire cast of b4b

i also do not understand your argument. you spend the whole of it critiquing specific characters of l4d1 and 2 but do not name a single b4b character

& here he goes again, starting the similar thread from months ago... :steamhappy: . Well, go ahead, I won't argue with you about a game inspired by L4D :steamhappy:

Don't take this personally but no. B4B character is rather upbeat for such grim setup. Just one/few guy being sunshine beam is fine, but entirely? That's like adding more sugar to a honeyed tea.

What make L4D character work is they all have their own personality and background to tell the player from the start who they are and why they act in such way.

I'll just cut the chase. IMO, it is better to have ragtag of misfit for a character that you can't help but curious than having best buddy type of character who trying too hard to convince you they're cool roomate only to become nuisance of a character when it come to grim settings. B4B got the setup right, I won't deny that, but the characterization left nothing for chemistry between each character and it might work if we're in era where Evil Dead are still a thing.

it's interesting how many people prefer l4d characters over b4b even though that is accepted that b4b characters are more well developed. strange.

Welcome to discussion forum. At least you're being nice about agree to disagree on things.

I can't help but wonder if OP's the same person that made the video people were reacting too claiming that L4D2 was "a walking simulator"

I gave B4B the fair chance it deserved but it just does A LOT of stuff wrong.

There is something in the works for the "guide" section regarding l4d being a walking simulator, but that won't be the main point of that guide. it will be released in around 1-2 weeks and you'll see what it is about. this is just a slight announcement. the reason for the delay is because it will contain something that first needs to be verified from outside Steam or i'll just need to find a way to somehow add that "thing" some other specific way.

Maybe if you play on Easy! But that mutation is more about having you make use of the stealth mechanics that are in Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 since you only have a magnum meaning you need to pick and choose your fights.

I doubt anyone is going to take someone with a game ban serious or because they were banned because "my freedom of speech" was being infringed on! You have zero "freedom of speech" on the forums, using them isn't a right it's a privilege and said privilege can be taken away.
