The Last Stand finale difficulty nerf
Hey guys, NF here, one of the developers from the community team.

One of the most consistent pieces of feedback we've received regarding The Last Stand finale was that the Scavenge portion was too overwhelming and didn't feel fair. We totally hear you and agree with this feedback. As a result, the rate of common spawning has been reduced during this portion.

Hopefully this should allow players to catch their breath when they get too overwhelmed and prevent it from being too frustrating, especially on higher difficulties. The map being a bit harder than others is intentional, to fit with the theme of the Survivors making a wrong turn into their potential doom, but something being TOO hard typically winds up being more unfun than a fun and fair challenge.

Unfortunately this change was accidentally excluded from the changelog, but I can confirm it's in here!

I liked the difficulty as it was before but you know, at this point, you do you.

this is a good change, maybe next update can add more infected ladders to the lighthouse if the difficulty is decreased too much from this

Cool. Killing every zombie in sight only to turn away & instantly get hit in the back by a zombie that wasn't there before & then repeat that process so many times I eventually stopped bothering to kill the zombies & just started tanking through it to get to the end faster definitely wasn't a fun challenge.

Why make it even easier? People really need to learn the layout of these maps for once.

Everyone knows the layout of the map. It's the simplest finale in the game. That doesn't stop zombies from hitting from a direction you just killed every zombie in like 1 second ago, nor does it make it not tedious to have to keep picking up a gas can & dropping it again after moving mere inches because there's a always a zombie hitting you in the back.

You couldn't even usually reload in the old version without more zombies popping up to hit you. Part of the problem is the the generator is against multiple walls so you have to deny yourself any way to see zombies coming just to use it but there were enough zombies at all times that you'd never be able to rely on your teammates to kill them while you pour gas.

Instead of dropping the spawn rate you shoulda increased the items instead . That way we could still have it the same or easier by not using the items. The extra items can be left for the one needing it the most too.

The biggest problem with this map is the design. Its too easy to get thrown off the map so to have a friend die without a body to defib and have to sit out the rest of the map makes it unfun for everyone.

Part of higher difficulties is identifying weaknesses like this and learning from them. I had next to no issues when they released the map on day one.

If you're going on higher difficulties, expect a serious challenge.

agree, I got it on or near the first day (I forgot) but the gascan part was designed poorly just cause of the amount of zombies. You had to save the static bile and have everyone separate to gather as many cans as possible along with someone waiting at the beach cans the second the tank dies, and even then it was rolling dice because if the beach guy gets horded at all when going up the stairs its pretty much a wipe, specials spawn near that staircase and commons will keep trickling in.

Reducing the horde will help make it more fair and they can make the finale harder in other ways, such as nerfing the lighthouse hold spot that makes this almost the easiest finale in the game since you just sit on the lighthouse and wait for tanks. I just let teammates bodyblock the ladder and go idle so the bot is like a sentry gun, its that easy. If they added more ladders players couldn't bodyblock them all and hordes would be an actual issue at that spot. I suppose they'd just go to the very top of the lighthouse then and camp / bodyblock there but changing one spot at a time is the best method IMO.

Making other spots more viable for camping would help too, it feels like the entire finale just has one OP hold spot and the rest is suicide
