How do I make ellis use a assault rifle

I dont like when ellis uses a small hunting rifle he should use a m16 or a scar or a ak but a small collage girl gun is not for a man like ellis

Just play as him or have somebody else play as him, his AI doesn't even use it half the time as the moment anything sneezes on him he switches to his pistols

You can try Left 4 Bots 2. I think there's a feature there to force certain bot to use weapons listed on a cfg file.

You have to play as him. Zoey also uses snipers so play as her too

And this is coming from someone who hates sniper weapons in a zombie setting but even I wouldn't say what OP's implying, if you like using a sniper then more power to you, they're just not my cup of tea for the setting.

ellis is the team sniper, he will pick up a sniper if he can

play as ellis if you don't want a sniper on the team

zoey / ellis = sniper + dual pistol preference

Snipers have infinite range, pierce, and one shot commons on all difficulties (not realism). They’re great for clearing hordes and annihilate specials at long range (one headshot kills all specials except charger). You can use whatever weapons you like, but snipers are probably the best weapon in the game..

Also you don’t really need precision, cuz the snipers are semi-auto. Even if you miss a lot of shots, you’ll still hit a lot since you’ve got so many opportunities
