Skill issues with people using Melee weapons

I have played L4D 1 and 2 since the beginning. I have found a major game play change when melee weapons were introduced. It is fine to use them, however the greatest disadvantage is the fact that almost no one now clears any zombies with pistols and or your own personal ammo is now used up due to that one guy who only uses melee. No matter the situation. To the point, users stopped playing in large droves when melee weapons were introduced.

Another problem with melee users is the fact they cannot cover you due to lacking an infinite ammo pistol. But the real main issue, is that melee users do not learn how to properly cover for a team mate, in a team oriented game. Leaving players frustrated and alienated from the players and game play itself.

To add to this problem, tier 1 weapons, such as the Uzi, were made so weak that you either use a pistol or a melee weapon. A majority people will prefer to use the melee weapon due to having to manually click the pistol to fire.

In order to fix this, I am suggesting a built in melee swing with a cool down. Which would essentially make the player OP (used to never get tired for pushing). But in the beginning of L4D, zombies either hurt you a lot, or there were way too many of them. Changes have been made that fear of threat has been dumbed down to the point where zombies basically are less on screen, dodge bullets or become a bullet sponge. This is not the most effective way to tweak a games play to make things fun for the player.

I am pretty sure the melee players did it first. And coming from a person saying melee only is kinda ehhh... not worth arguing with a person who cant shoot in a gun game, not willing to swap to guns, and cant MVP as a melee user either. No one wants to play with someone with skill issues

Bruh, the drain stamina perk for meele alone is already make the whole meele mechanic broken on arrival. Why bother trying anything else when there's only one mechanic that works and guarantee winning is beyond me.

Cause it don't work well past rookie stage. And if you see down in front and penetration rounds plus inifnite side arm etc, you'd understand one army carry clear. You can't do that with melee only.

Just think of those moments or events when you have to turn off the alarm, or rush to the saferoom with infinite hordes coming at you. Yea you'll look cool with dual wielding pistols, but the zombies are going to surround and beat your ass like you owe them money lol. Most ppl would panic and start dumping bullets into random directions and start panic shoving until they get incapped. At least with a melee weapon, you can kill a large portion of zombies, especially with adding the technique of following/rotating the camera with your swings.

If you have a pitchfork then forget about it, that's just as bad as using 2 pistols lol

it's called running with a shot gun instead. I have yet to hear the reason why melee users don't want to switch weapons. You do not really have to run off straight towards the safe zone either. Proves a point the wrong way for melee users.

What does this prove? That you can host your own server and set AI up? Don't need to see it to even question this. You got this achievement using melee only?

The more fun games are the HK servers when you got 8 players and too many things spawning. Melee players quit those games quick.

probably because a pistol is a gun and malees aren't? obviously using a ranged glock to finish a campaign is easier than a small ranged bat or a katana
