If you have a pitchfork then forget about it, that's just as bad as using 2 pistols lol
when zombies all around you from every angle, its annoying to shove and shoot them with eagle so i prefer to do 360 with the axe to clear them all
machete and ninja sword are good too cuz they fast af but they cant 360 like the axe
Being OP as in having both pistol and a melee. And nothing is better than a whole team using pistols as zombies don't even get remotely close to you unless a spawned horde is signaled.
hear me out dude.. if you're in a closed space with just enough room for 1 person you're supposed to use malee's to clear the way same thing goes when you're looking for loot and have to go in a room with only 1 exit malee's are great at stopping smokers and killing short range enemies like the jockey or the hunter you can also 1 shot the charger if you aim for the head if you have to complain about people using certain weapons maybe you're the one with the skill issue [/quote]
No, a pistol can be used in closed quarters and every scenario. If you save your ally with a melee and have to walk to close the distance, it is a skill problem because you did not switch to a long range wep and endagered your ownself in the process.
For your scenario you can use a skill called ducking so the person behind you can fire while you do damage as they close the gap. If you ran up front with a melee weapon, in a closed quarter area, without backup then you are the problem for the group. There is no area where two people cannot stand next to each other unless your going through a grate entrance and or ladder. Even then its such a low percentage and you have other better options. A hallway can easily have 4 people shooting in one direction. Push smoker head shot. Charger you should be backing out and or always using main weapon. You can always see enemies coming at you. If they are close enough to whiff at you, it is a skill problem. Save for being overwhelmed by a spawn trigger. Even then you are supposed to get closer to each other so you can assist properly. A full squad using pistols / main wep, and even being mildy skilled, keeps everything at bay.
Let's say we use your scenario then. Would you use melee as your main consistent weapon in a versus game? You going to melee a smoker who grabs you, or stop them with a skilled use of pistol before you can't shoot? Your going to walk by zombies and let them be used on a spawn trigger against you because you dint kill them with pistols and or used all your main ammo on them?
I could say the same for L4D1 players who have infinite shoving and safe little closets to hide in to deal with a horde.
this is a braindead take.
melee weapons specialize where pistols are the most casual thing on the planet - damage from anywhere.
melee weapons have a higher skill ceiling by far: slicing tongues, killing charging chargers, etc
