How do I avoid modded lobbies?

I'm clicking on quickplay, then official servers only. I'd think that meant valve had some control over it, but immediately (what im assuming is) my ip address is shown in chat and someones flying around doing what ever.

Some times its 8+ players fighting an incredible hoard. (still my ip is shown, wtf) That can be fun but tbh im just looking for some good players, fighting to save eachother in a normal mode. It's starting to get annoying.

I just start a new dedicated server game myself.

open the list of servers and pick one or just make your own game

Use console command openserverbrowser and join a 1-7/8 server
Or a 0/8 and hope someone joins you quickly
Or start a lobby with your "Friends" and start the match at 2/8 players

Openserverbrowser does not tell you if the server is password protected and still connects you regardless. Making you a involuntary intruder

I think you have to disable custom server content in the options menu and then after that if it still happens, re-roll quickmatch official servers until you get a vanilla valve server, shouldn't take more than 3 tries

that thing that says quickplay, don't click it. Filter to lobby only. Leave if the host changes it from "Official Dedicated", or start your own lobby / match.

Urgh, you people are ridiculous. Official is the most boring lobby type in the world as none of them ever support custom campaigns. Rule of thumb has always been if a custom server doesn't have low gravity and triple SI spawns then it is fine
