I want to play with 4 other friends, me included, are there good server plugins

Me and my friends are planning on playing, possibly 5 of us, is there a server plugin that can add one more survivor into the game?

I was able to pull a mod pack off the web that allows 8 Survivors but im not sure if it allows 5 or if its hardcapped at 8 I cant send drive links on discussion pages but I can DM you the link if you wanna give those mods a shot.

One of my friends who added a 8 players mod and it ran well. However, after the latest update of L4D2, the game will crashed in 2 seconds. Do you have the same issue??

my group has tried multiple of these mods and they have issues ranging from only working with some survivors to changing other aspects of the game, to simply not working reliability.

in the end we rarely use them, we prefer to use the custom servers that allow 8-10 player vanilla coop (you'll see them scrolling on the bottom right of the main screen). these have been working very good. shout out to the server "Krazy Kats Kingdom" - 10 player server which has custom maps served

Try removing the mod, verifying game files. then restarting steam. Launch the game without the mod, make sure it doesn’t crash then close the game and re-add the mod. That could possibly allow the system files for L4D to have a reset.

Been having this issue as well since the May 14th update. We've tried re-installing the mods and followed the resource provided here:
