L4D2 Unbindall Issue
Everytime I launch the game it creates an unbindall in my config. I have done almost everything to try and fix this.
If anyone has a possible solution, please, anything helps.

Is it meant to break my game? Because it keeps getting rid of resetting my binds and settings.

No? It must be something else cause I have never had that issue

Knowing that unbind all is causing it, it just seems to ignore my config and using the default ones. And getting rid of any other binds I may have.

Try to set your "config.cfg" to read-only. I do that too, as I don't want to get annoyed with my keys being unbound.

For me it just makes my addons not load

addons usually use "addonlist.txt" instead, if I'm not mistaken. I've been doing this since years ago & my addons still load properly though I set my "config.cfg" to read-only.

I checked my addonlist to find it wasn't even there to begin with even after a freshinstall.
Config is set to read me and it doesn't seem to care.

unbindall at the top of config.cfg? The commands are executed sequentially so it shouldn't matter. I place "exec autoexec.cfg" at the bottom of my config, then put all of my extra commands there that I don't plan on changing and set it to read-only. You could try something similar.

Have you tried to check whether there's "unbindall" on your "config.cfg"? In my "config.cfg", there's a list like this (not all, just the first few keys):
unbindall bind "0" "slot10" bind "1" "slot1" bind "2" "slot2" bind "3" "slot3" bind "4" "slot4" bind "5" "slot5" bind "6" "slot6" bind "7" "slot7" bind "8" "slot8" bind "9" "slot9" bind "a" "+moveleft" bind "c" "+voicerecord" bind "d" "+moveright" bind "e" "+use" bind "f" "impulse 100" bind "g" "say pick item nearby" bind "h" "motd" bind "j" "say come back here" bind "k" "say check there" bind "m" "chooseteam" bind "q" "lastinv" bind "r" "+reload" bind "s" "+back"
That "unbindall" is placed on top of my "config.cfg" file. However, it doesn't affect my keys anymore as I usually remove read-only when trying to add more binds on keys, & then set it back to read-only after binding some keys. The results are like the key "g", "j" & "k" on that list, which I use for chat commands for my bots when using certain mods. You can also manually bind some keys directly via "config.cfg" & then set it back to read-only. Normally no matter what happens, the keys won't be reset when it's set to read-only.

So I've made a recent discovery
Basically every time I launch the game, it gets rid of my config and replaces it with the default controls

That's one of reasons why "config.cfg" should be set to read-only. But you can try to modify "config_default.cfg" if you want (remember to make a backup for this file first). Insert your key binds there, so even if it's reset to default, your config will still be there.

I tried that and it still gave me nothing.
