no mercy (the payday one) is more of a reference to l4d than anything else. it even canonically takes place in like 2011 or 2012 which is a few years after l4d

Payday isn't connected to left 4 dead at all (aside from the fact that overkill and valve both said that they weren't connected) overkill recanonized the no mercy heist to disconnect it from left 4 dead and instead using it for other plot stuff for payday 2

No it's not, even for PayDay: The Heist, the heist was just a reference to Left 4 Dead after all there's a jumpscare easter egg with the Witch, a special infected THAT WOULDN'T EXIST in the time frame the heist takes place, the map itself was made canonical to the story line that was in PayDay2 to further remove whatever connections people think they can draw.

they are nothing but references between eachother nothing more nothing less this was just the thing at the time to have a crossover


it makes it clear the games are cannon within the l4d universe just as much as francis says "i hate steam... pipes" being a blunt reference to valve

if the game takes place in the same game released at then like they are from the time valve is in their prime at that point i wish they referenced terror strike (being the prototype for l4d)

maps like the lake and boathouse being similar locations is it really that similar maybe an old version of the map sure but like they hardly match except the layout of the boathouse being in the middle of nowhere and its clear its just reusing assets

other references are just references it was a prominent thing for that time just as much as now it is for people to data mine games and create metas

payday the hist no idea how but the crossover happned and the things you see are just blatent estereggs, considering its a crossover youd expect to see a bunch of references

even if we were supposted to argue it takes place earlier than the early days of payday 1like why would there be a witch before theres common infected? the first patient hasnt even turned into a common yet but somehow theres a witch

as for payday2 its simple its just a re master of a payday1 map so anything about payday 1 goes the same for payday 2

unlike the video im more wiling to argue that cs go can potentially take place before l4d2 especially because its got maps like nuke which was before l4d existed cs go was never a lore game so to think that its somehow connected to l4d is a joke nothing in cs go is serious

top it off that would mean 3 universes are together and we all know valve cant count to three :3

but yea it really makes no sense and quickly falls apart nothing supports it except clear references to eachother
