Left 4 Dead 2 no longer supported?
we've had a few discussions on this before
basically, the short version is, sounds like they've dropped all support
saw it coming after turning over to anyone for last stand and cold stream
yet even the so called "developers" themselves don't have rights to full access
look around here a bit and you'll find at least two discussions including my own
speaking with Rayman1103 and Kerry, 2 of the last known good workers, didn't help
impressions i got from so called 'support" tell me we no longer have support
from steam itself or with the game, they've decided it's too old now
even looking to Kerry and Rayman1103, the few Valve listens to, didn't get anywhere

"Do understand, we're limited the support we can provide for this specific issue, and as games age, players often move to newer titles and the demand for in-depth support decreases. With this in mind, you may also want to ask around on our Left 4 Dead 2 workshop discussion forums to see if other users may have encountered the same issue and got it resolved. We may not be able to provide further assistance with the creation and curation of Workshop content due to the number of unique issues users may have when creating or submitting content. We recommend visiting the Steam Workshop discussions forum to search posts or submit a new post to get help from your fellow content creators. We do apologize that Steam Support could not be of better help on this issue, please visit the Left 4 Dead 2 Discussions page, the other players can offer more helpful advice."

What disappointed me was one of the Support Representatives was named Alexa
Not even Alexa could help us

perhaps they feel like they're overwhelmed and too much to keep up with
their "staff" was never as large as people thought
at least for Left 4 Dead
not counting the so called "developers" of Last Stand (who don't have full access)
there were like 1 or 2 legit people left behind regarding Left 4 Dead 2 who work on it
same two I mentioned earlier

"We understand the challenge of judging the appropriateness of the content that players upload and we’re not always going to get it right. Subjectivity and context always come into play when applying guidelines to unique content. Feedback from the community helps ensure that we are applying these rules correctly. We rely on feedback from our community to calibrate our decisions."

I can agree that they should treat their older games better, if it's still paid to play the game. Then you should be expected as a developer to support it.

l4d2 players really be something huh

anyways,game not dead
if dead, they wouldnt have fixed the hack from last week hence they care for their players still
no need to update the game, updates usually ruin games so better leave it untouched

for clarity, I wasn't trying to talk about specifically the game itself
it was more about the authoring tools such as the "cloud" and workshop
the point i tried making was it seems they've been slowly abandoning us

a friend of mine in another conversation said:
"doesn't surprise me at all. They're using the age of the game as an excuse, but truth be told the amount of content still on the Workshop for that game is HUGE, so it is a silly argument. They don't have enough staff and should just admit that. But if you are going to have a Left 4 Dead 2 Workshop they should have staff to support it, so I'm wondering if they're even going to keep that Workshop around? They could use those servers for other Workshops obviously."

If you want me to talk about the actual topic, then sure. I'm just certain that Valve has more important things to work on, don't they have far less developers than the average game company?

Thank you.
Well that's what it seems everyone's been getting told.
It seems obvious to many the "team" is small or working on better things.
And sorry to keep repeating myself, but kind of the point of the OP discussion.
Something people need to try to realized and understand when they complain.
All this hate over DDOS and other broken issues.
Think about how old the game and the rest is.
But then again, what "better" things are Valve doing?
Last I heard they made an orb out of Steam Decks and proudly bragged about it.
As if there's something to learn from that.
I don't know, I just feel the community is a lost cause.
My drama's one thing, but is there anything pure left to stick around for?

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Ah, yes, correct, you're right.
They might just be flexing for VR.
I forgot they had dived into that with Alyx.
Thanks for reminding me.
Nice to see you can be civilized in the end.
Maybe I'm wrong about some of you after all.
Anyway, speaking of demos, I remember they put Left 4 Dead 2 in Source 2 as a test.
Perhaps some things they feel aren't ready to speak up more about yet.

Yeah, hopefully if they ever do a port of Left 4 Dead 2 to Source 2 they handle it far ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ better though. They handled CS:GO poorly.

this strangely reminds me
weren't we both in Renegade's Twitch stream recently talking about that?
I remember someone mentioning some possible oversight about ladders.

I mentioned how bare bones the func ladder entity was in CS:S, don't remember much outside of that.
