what does slot reservation mean?

tried to play the parish and i got dropped due to slot reservation
never heard of that till now im confused what that means

i think it could be a setting on a server... maybe an option to say "one slot needs to be free for <username> to join

Another reason why half the modded servers are inferior

server owner / server owners friend has a dedicated slot and you got kicked out. Imagine an apartment parking space and you parked in it, and it got towed.

also don't play on 3rd party / local servers they are rife with this kind of BS and you never know what to expect out of them
