And if you want NEW ONES COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO THE EXISTING ONES SPAWNING ALONGSIDE THEM AS IF A NEW ADDED WEAPON.

Anyway, if you simply want to create a new melee weapons with no effects, you'll need to have the melee skin/ model first & then make a melee script put in "scripts/melee" (example: like "baseball_bat.txt"), but with your modified scripts. You can set your melee damage type there (does it cut zombie like katana, burn zombie, or destroy zombie like when shot by m60? Etc). Later, you'll need to update mission files to include your melee to the list of melee on campaigns.
But if you want it to spawn much easier, it's better to replace the existing official melee that you think it's less useful with yours, as you don't need to put more works on modifying mission files etc. For example, like this:
