OP only needs to configure his computer correctly, since he has a good one.
Make sure the correct GPU is assigned for l4d2.
Since it is an "old" game, the hardware didn't "think" the game would need more allocated resources.
P.S. - The other guy straight up deleted his comments. i would advise you to edit out the name calling
p.s. - i just noticed your profile's description. i dislike your type of ideology, therefore i will not indulge you any further.
good luck and have fun.
Nope. Look around on the forums and posts elsewhere, this happens for oddball reasons nobody I know of has yet been able to pinpoint.
It doesn't matter what rig you have, the game just interacts very poorly with certain drivers and/or hardware, even with fresh install vanilla setup. Large hordes are one of the things triggering this, and for some it gets even worse when you start firing your gun, apparently (as in, as far as we can tell) related to the TLS update that hacked in a choppy recoil animation for the firing sequence. I have it, it only happens on L4D1 maps in certain areas, only on versus mode, and that's with no mods installed and a clean, fresh game and system.
edit: and also, with iGPU disabled/enabled, different desktop environment, even a dedicated graphical desktop session solely for gaming.
At this point it's hard to say exactly what _does_ cause it, but it's easy to say that it's not due to configuration or hardware - because several of us have carefully ruled that out already.
This "upgrade ur pc / stop installing mods" response to people's problems is getting old and it doesn't help anyone figure out what's actually going awry.
