Who or what is jimmynigs?

Just now I played a match of scavenge and a couple of users have been saying things about jimmynigs like "jimmynigs ♥♥♥ ban is the best" or something along those lines while some players proceed to get kicked from the match, including me. I did some research about this and it seems to be some kind of bot system where people detected get added to some kind of list, get a bot made of them, who then goes around ddosing games, or atleast that's how i read it. But i'm still not entirely sure so can anyone tell me what is going on here and should i be worried?

L4d2 is abandoned gMe, there aren't "losing" if valve sell it for one buck with online lobby support, there isn't any profit from that game.

If i remember this right, he seems to be ddosing people with bots. It starts with one joining your game, and there's a few triggers that initiate the attacks like kicking one out. You're then put on his "f*g list" stuck getting ddosed no matter what you're doing online in l4d since the bot tracks your steam IP and the server you're in. It doesn't need to even be in your game.

To stop the attacks? He wants you to go to his site where you log in (probably in hopes to steal your data and sell it) and you need to "beg like a dog" to get off of his "f*g" list" and the attacks will stop. You can try VPN but i don't think it's guaranteed protection. Iv'e also heard he can steal your data in game but not entirely sure about that part.

I'm guessing that Valve is going to do literally nothing about this, because Valve, right? Would be fitting of them to sit back and do nothing while some basement dwelling moron makes one of their games unplayable.

I imagine they could easily patch this and the ddosing would stop but i have little faith, because A) look at the bot problem in tf2 and B) there's like 1 guy who actually still works on l4d2.

However with this being illegal it's more likely something could be done. I wish i had a crystal ball or a statement from Valve but i don't. Haven't been able to find one.

To be fair, the bot issue has had an easily available solution for years now via Community Servers, but people don't want a solution, they just want an excuse to whine and cry about the problem. Granted we could play on Community Servers in L4D2 but that's pretty tedious when a lot of them are loaded with sourcemod plugins or whatever garbage is going on in the Lewd4Dead servers, screwing over anyone who just wants a vanilla Versus game. Even local servers fall into the problem, while also adding the issue of blatant host advantage and the server being instantly killed if the host leaves.

No, they were targeting valve servers because of item drops aka "profit" reason, sometimes trolling but not was the main reason, so targeting cummuinty server wasn't ideal, same as CSGO when most farmers go to deathmatch valve servers to grind item drops

The l4d2 the hacker want "to obie in his discord server" so he can target what ever he wants, also you can use non-steam game to join cummuinty servers, so there isn't any big security whatever.

Now the elite should learn c++ and reverse engineering the game , then patch it, or waiting for valve skill.

Valve won't be fixing it. This attack happened years ago and valve did nothing but ask the attackers to stop and wait it out. Now Jimmy is doing it. Has a list of steamIDs and the second one joins any public server it gets packet overloaded / dos'd within minutes.

Fixes: play on different steam account, play on local server or play on sirplease/cedapug.
