Game wont start. Windows 10 OS.
Not sure if my computer just cant run a source engine game or if it's something with the game. I've verified, reinstalled, Changed targets and such. I'm not sure what else I can do to fix this.

I've been playing the game with windows 10 since I upgraded from win7 back at release, it's nothing to do with win10. :boomer:

Try this steps:
1) Check updates for your Windows.
2) Install DirectX 9 latest libraries.
3) Install Visual C++ libraries. (You can find all in one pack in "Techpowerup" site for example. Also, you can find DirectX pack here too: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/operating-system/)
4) Update your GPU drivers.
5) Run Steam/L4D2 with Admin rights (Run as Administrator).

Why install the lines of codes libraries?
From Wikipedia, my favourite site:
"Many applications require redistributable Visual C++ runtime library packages to function correctly."

"seems trustworthy"? Is this your first week with videogaming?
How can you not know about DirectX and Visual runtime libraries?
Someone else installs everything for you?

BTW, you can just search "left 4 dead 2 won't launch" and A BUNCH of fixes will appear.
To have the power to access so much information with literally a click of a button and to decide to lose time like this... At least you make some people laugh.

P.S. - i got less aggressive... thank goodness

Tried all these, still isn't working for me lol. Not a problem with the source engine either, TF2 works fine.
