because apprently vs try harder no fun player complain of peapole spamming it, that all

default voice wheel or vocaliser mods are very fun tool, but not in the right hand and you handle a guy just spamming lines that make everyone talking every 0.1 sec (true story)

you can also make SI callout faster than typing into chat (you can also do binding of " bind "t" "say tank warning" for exemple, but if you miss type it, that can be annoying)

>People spam laugh voicelines using the chat wheel
>Tryhards get mad that someone is having fun instead of operating at 100% efficiency at all times in the game mode with no stakes or consequences
>Valve removes the ability to laugh using the chat wheel
>Spammers use a vocaliser mod to spam laugh even faster than they otherwise could
>Nobody wins

Ignoring all of the fragile folk who claim everyone else is a snowflake; the logic behind the removal came from a place of good intentions that Valve agreed with, as it was largely an attempt to combat a very specific kind of griefing tangential to the spamming that affected both teams.

That griefing was teamkilling in versus, as the usual go-to that griefers would use was:
kill team>spam laugh/taunt>suicide>repeat until vote kick called.
Which pretty much ruined any match for everyone playing, regardless of how sweaty or casual it was.

Sadly, this backfired as griefers don't really care how they're being obnoxious, just that they are, and thats why they spam death screaming instead nowadays. For a while, they even discovered a bug to crash peoples games using sprays just in case they got vote-kicked.

how do I spraycrash
That was quickly patched out in a hotfix later on iirc, for very obvious reasons.

Funny joke
If you locally install a vocalizer it will work even in versus.

So louis can still spam punkass ♥♥♥♥♥ island in versus matches if he has locally innstalled voc.

There is also a voiceline for bill in helrikas vocalizer called idiot2. It makes all survivors laugh hysterically after a while. Francis can also trigger this line. This works in versus also.

Vocalizers are useful for other things than spam. As you can call out SI or trigger lines like Behind! Or RUN or whatnot. Its a big advantage to have.
