play campaign on normal / advanced > understand the basics and then play versus to get the best experience possible
people in campaign are normally silent or chill and you will have a good time with people there
you will have a good time playing with random players on this game and its core design is based on good teamwork (where bots can really hinder that experience as well they are bots)
versus on the other hand is not singleplayer or a new player friendly mode as it gives no room for mistakes and people will lack tolerance for mistakes etc because it hinders everyones experience and you probably wont find fun within so much chaos as your trying to figure things out
versus is not as toxic as people make it out to be etc and while its the attention grabber it has meany balance problems and isnt as great as it first looks
nothing is stopping you from versus but dont expect people to be friendly (dunno why people take vs so seriously) and work with your team infected side or not
i suggest you find a group of friends to play with but you can play with randoms and if randoms isnt your thing singleplayer is just fine
play campaign on low difficulties first then climb upwards
NEVER touch versus since it's a toxic clown fiesta
if you meet dumb people just block them on steam and you will never meet again
not really modded campaigns are only good to play once you have compleated the main campaign to the point it is boring to play through
the campaigns arent bad at all (i say that like there isnt some bad picks lol)
but going solo to piss players off by rushing ahead and seeing them mad is so much fun hahahahahaha
so aye it do be fun
The biggest advantage of playing solo is you can get a lot of mods that would otherwise not work in multiplayer such as having the m60 have a larger ammunition pool, the above suggestion for the A.I, mods that either make the game easier or harder, and other such changes.
