Thats why i said "What do you think"
Now that sounds cool with the flyer but i dont know where it can pick up survivors cause if your playing with bots it might be a problem as the ai has not always been great
That seems op as hell
there would be like 1 in each level and only in advanced mode or higher
okay that seems fine
They already tryed that one and it failed in left 4 dead 1
I would like to see an easter egg Gabe Newell infected that has a random chance to appear like Jimmy Gibbs Jr
Now THAT is a decent concept, it adds to the game with being stupidly OP, immature or too noob friendly. I like it. +1
The idea of a flying special infected... lol, maybe in a rated PG version targeted for 12 year olds or something. I mean come on, flying zombies? seriously?
If they add stuff like that the franchise will be dead for sure, as far as I am concerned at least.
I was not a huge fan of Left 4 Dead 2, because I felt like not only did it kill the awesome Left 4 Dead 1 game way before it's time, it made the whole franchise feel like a cheesed up console port of Left dead 1 were everyone with an idea got it added in..
The first game "FELT" better, the guns felt more real and more accurate, the world was more gritty and the game play was the star attraction, it didn't rely on gimmicks like fire bullets, and tons of other junk to clutter up the experience. Melee weapons were a nice idea, taken a tad too far though maybe, I personally think a few basic ones would have been best, all the ones adding humor to the game sort of distracted from the whole zombie apocalypse premise, i mean if you want tongue and cheek there is always Team Fortress 2.
Left 4 Dead 1 provided plenty of laughs, without even trying, Left 4 Dead 2 tried 2 hard sometimes I think.
Special infected from the first game, again were PERFECT, balanced, straight forward and always useful... in Left 4 Dead 2 the new ones, for the most part were kind of cheesy and not really ground breaking. The spitter I concede, is awesome, and would make a great addition to the first game as well, it serves a purpose and and allows the player to actually PLAY it.
The Jockey on the other hand, is super lame and all but useless 90% of the time... it is only good at very specific locations and circumstances, the Charger is a little less lame, but still is very much suited for specific situations and locations... both would have made much better special, special infected, meaning they are map or area specific and don't ALWAYS spawn.
And THAT would be my biggest idea for Left 4 Dead 3 special infected, make some of them map/or area specific... or possibly allow them to mutate under certain circumstances.
Imagine if the jockey took 10x more damage and received a significant damage reduction when hit in the back... let it trade mobility for toughness or something, holding a player up for even 5 seconds or so can make a big difference in some scenarios. Maybe a melee from the jockey, or pseudo jockey causes the survivor to move much slower for x amount of time, or start a timer of x amount that if they are not attended to in some way by another survivor they go down.
The Charger could have a ground punch or something that makes all survivors in a certain range stumble, slowing their movement speed while they regain their balance.
by making them more formidable, or more versatile at times balance can be achieved without dumbing down weapon aim or whatever.
Also maybe make some regular infected, and maybe special effected, react to power ups like fire bullets or whatever in a negative way... like some may be soaked in flammable material and will burst into flames and charge when lit up, or explode, doing damage and drawing more infected.
I think a screaming zombie is a no brainer and NEEDS to be added, if it was TRIED in LFD1 it wasn't tried hard enough, and never made it to the demo or the game, again it could be more of an map/area specific type thing but I can see it being pretty awesome just about anywhere.
You could have one that is just like a big person, not supernatural or freakish big, but like body builder sized, that is maybe slow, but durable, and it's whole purpose is to grasp, hold and slow survivors...
I guess I'd like to see function over gimmick, and a return back towards the darker more gritty feel of the original left 4 dead games, I am all for a little humor here and there, like the first game had, but more focus on the frantic game play where "SKILL" is more important then flaming/exploding bullets, laser sights and other clutter.
Bring Turtle Rock back to the project!!!
Make Left 4 Dead great again!!!!
