I can't seem to play any addon maps

So I've subscribed to some Addon Maps from the L4D2 Workshop but can't figure out how to play them. I've checked for them in each game mode just to make sure that wasn't the case, anyone know what i'm supposed to do to get them to show up? Thanks in advance.

just go to play with friends and choose map go down all the way down and add ons map are there then choose the map acept and they you go

check the map off that you want in the l4d2 main menu under addons

That's what I mean when I said I checked for them though, They aren't there for me to select. they just don't showup at all is my issue

I thought they were supposed to be checked. My issue is that they show up under addons, but when I check the game modes, they aren't available to be selected.

you said you checked for them in each game mode which would have been different than looking in the addons sub menu.

try verifying your game cache.

not sure.

if it's a survial map it will only show in the survival area when you try and start up a game.

it won't show in campaign etc.

ok do you look in to the downloads folders? if don;t you have to xtract the maps and intall then
just went is done the extration right click in the map and open you going to see map is intallet

if he's getting them from the steam workshop he doesn't have to extract anything.
it should automatically download the vpk into the "workshop" folder.

currently verifying game cache to see if that's the issue, I tried to search for my topic and the closest related solution was to create a .zip folder and put it in the addons section but it didn't seem to do anything for me.

I'll subscribe to that map and see if it shows up but cache is slow with the verifying right now

reboot your computer after you're done with the game cache.

1) Did you download all parts of your map/campaign? Workshop has some rather restrictive limits on file sizes, which means some maps require multiple parts.

2) If you can't make everything work, download the maps or campaigns manually from GameMaps or Gamebanana where available. This method, once you know how to make it work, is more reliable, more consolidated, not dependent upon being online, and there's a reduced chance of downloading from some dirtbag who stole the map or campaign from someone else.
