Anyways, to the Last Stand lore.
If the campaign has something to do with the lore, then, it would be a bridge between Crash Course and Death Toll. 4 survivors stuck on a dark forest, their vehicle is broken, they have to find a way to escape this dark forest by turning on the light of the lighthouse to signal for help, once the help arrived, they get into the boat, off the boat to a safer location, they continue their way, find a vehicle, escape and continue towards Death Toll.
Dead Center - Drive Jimmy Gibbs Car
The Passing - Raise bridge to drive past with car
Dark Carnival - Fly helicopter out of the carnival
Cold Stream - Crashed the helicopter from Dark Carnival, then get on a second helicopter to escape.
Swamp Fever - Second helicopter crashes, then Coach says the line about no more helicopters.
Cold Stream has less lore, but could either be a what-if set after the events of the Parish, or a what-if of the survivors extracting from the hotel at the start of Dead Center.
Neither are canon to the overall story presented in both games however, more like an aperitif to the custom campaigns one can find on the workshop.
and as everyone is saying its none cannon story to l4d2 and you could introduce it as a what if at maybe the end of dark carnival etc
as for the last stand its just based of a what if scenario of going right instead of left which leads to the lighthouse (being a survival map only back in l4d1)
both are none cannon none the less and theres not much point into puting thought into them
The endless conga line of infected has prevented me from wanting to play the campaign more than once. It's not fun in the slightest, especially with A.I.
