how to stop the game from crashing without making it look like ♥♥♥♥
so i like to download some mods that make the game look better, enhanced particle effects, enhanced textures, L4d2 remastered textures to be specific. but when i do the game will constantly crash despite my computer being able to handle it. i know that lowering Page Pool memory will fix it but doing that makes the game look like ♥♥♥♥, so are there any other suggestion to what i could do?

Your computer isn't to blame; Source engine is. The engine can only handle so much high quality models/textures before it starts falling apart (this is a recurring issue with SFM - trust me, it's bad). Higher quality models and textures will add more stress into the engine and if the memory usage goes past 2-3 GB, it simply won't work at all. It's the reason why most people suggest only changing small things like survivors, guns, throwables, etc. instead of what's part of a map (cars, big props, etc.) and even the maps themselves.

You may keep enhanced particles, but I wouldn't count on the remastered textures.
Don't use 4k textures; They kill memory usage that would otherwise be better spent on other mods.

The game needs 64 bit support; Probably one of the few games that could really use it since modding is pretty integral to the experience.

thanks for the response, the game was completely stable until i downloaded the texture mod, before that i had mods that completely remade some models, weapons, other good stuff like that and it ran perfectly. so if all i need to do is uninstall the texture mod to make the game playable again thats sacrifice im willing to make

Just HOW many mods do you actually have? Because the more mods you add, the more stress you generate for the engine... people over in the Gmod community experience this plight all the time and they sometimes have 200+ sometimes 1000+ before the game starts to crash on them.

The amount of mods you have installed is irrelevant to the game crashes. It's what they're replacing in the first place. The worst offender to this are script mods and unoptimized mods that feature high quality models.
