Is there a way to prevent other player joining you mid game?

When i was playing with my friend last night, 2 trolls join my game, spamming noises and text and hold my friend and i from continue playing by spamming heal when the zombies come raiding. and when i start a new fresh game, they keep on joining again, and we can't kick them out because it was a 2 vs 2 vote.

when i had my friend host instead in a PRIVATE game, well those two trolls don't join in but somehow another person just join in still. even though he just ended up leaving us behind and just going forward by himself showing how much pro he is. (and we just kicked him out in the end)

Still, I want to enjoy the game with just my friend and the AI, are there any way to prevent anybody join our game midgameplay at all? thanks

block the players, l4d2 prevents you from playing with people on your block list (vice versa)

It doesnt work, he basically join my game and kick me out

and basically having so much fun trolling all player with non full lobby in L4d2 and happily livestreaming on it

basically cant play l4d2 unless i have full lobby or only play solo then

I tried to block him, but he trolled by joining in and out of my game taunting me to try to block him

press shift+tab, view players, current / recent games - look for the griefer's name. block him. u won't see him ever again.

if for some reason, u don't see the griefers name through that, u can use the console command 'status' to see their steam id. use that to block them.

and also hosting a friends only game in a local server can work.
don't use official servers - even if u set it to 'friends only', random people can easily join in.

Open a local server
Kick every troll.
At least thats what i do if i want to play co-op

which part of blocking didnt work?
you can check on steam the players recently met and then take action. at least thats how it works for me.

Yes, this guy play every day and stream trolling on youtube channel, he try my game 4 times but i ban him on my servers. He use server browser to join any game, he pin streamers on twitch and restream their reaction. He have 2 friends who help him, and each stream is 5 hours long. so that is to many trolling. I dl 3 his videos, and will create youtube what he was use for trolling. That is advanced troll, use lot of scripts, search, compare nicknames from twitch to steam, and use list with troll commands. Never see advanced troll like that so is interesting.

Wrong, server browser ignores "Friends only"

it's 2022 and people still don't know about the server browser

surprised that was never fixed / patched , not even in the last stand update ; pheraps it's not even possible after all
