How To Save Console Commands For Start Up

I'm probably going to feel real stupid after getting an answer for this but how does one save console commands to start on start up? I want to change the glows around items and survivors with different commands but as soon as I quit and rejoin the commands I put in are gone. Any help?

Make an autoexec.cfg it is executed on the game start.
Another way is to put +exec my.cfg and then making a my.cfg with yours config

I've made the autoexec.cfg file and pasted into Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\cfg and it doesn't work at all, it doesn't show up when I load up my game and I don't know why.

Hi Blue! I have the exact same question you have and I've been lurking keeping track of replies here. Like you I have been manually pasting commands at startup but my main issue is I don't even know how to make an autoexec.cfg. Is it just a simple .txt file?

I tried to google the answers some time back but they are so confusing.

Basically it was a .txt file instead of a .cfg file and Blue just fixed that and made it work.
