Crash to desktop with no error message, including no error visible in Event Viewer or reason-less crash
I'm making this asking if anyone else experienced this crash in which no error exists anywhere in your PC regarding it, but it still happens.

It occurs 100% randomly, regardless of add-on setup or graphics settings and a trigger for it does not exist.

Well, it does happen to crash to desktop mainly when a server is full and someone wants to take my spot so I have to wait in the queue 1 hour to crash 5 minutes later again :steamsalty:

Is there any way to force this to stop?

I tried pretty much everything on the internet including erasing all my add-ons completely and adding new ones entirely, playing without them, the " -lv " launch parameter, reinstalling windows, reinstalling steam etc.

I don't have much hope as I assume this is one of the issues that can not be fixed.

My PC specs are i5-4670k non OC'd , GTX 970, 16GB ram and 2 SSDs, all in 100% functional condition without additional overclock or any form of changes that could de-stabilize them.

Try these launch commands. I haven't had a crash in months with them running.

-heapsize 1572864 -novid -noipx -nojoy

Also I apparently had a corrupted mod that edited sound files. Sometimes the game would start up, alot of times I would just crash to desktop for no apparent reason without a crash log or error message. If you are using any sound editing mods I would suggest you look into them.

Hopefully this works out for you. It helped me and might most likely help you.

Please only use the heapsize command if you have more than 3 gb of ram.

What do these launch options have anything to do with the crashes?

forces your game to run to max ram using potential. disables the loading video for faster start up. disables joystick support which has been reporting as giving a small performance boost to the game. And I actually forgot what nopix does. I belive its a performance thing.

Only thing I am unsure of is that noipx but the others I already use and I get the crashes sometimes anyways.

I had crashes like that when I overclocked RAM memory a bit too much. It is DDR4-3000 and I OC'd it to 3200 MHz. Then random crashes happened. When I put it to 3100 MHz, no more crashes occured. But yeah, you said nothing is overclocked for you...

Googled it. -noipx Disables a very old and unused internet protocol. Have you tried removing sound editing mods? I know you erasd all addons and put new ones but theres always a chance of it happening. You could also try typing

Snd_rebuildaudiocache

in your console after starting the game. In worst case scenerio if you are using Windows 10 you might want to do a update rollback or a driver roll back since alot of users have reported issues with windows 10 updates causing game instability. I had to do a roll back myself as well. My game would crash after about 15 - 20 minutes before I did the roll back.

Hey guys.

I haven't had crashes for a while and I will set the launch parameters ™ mentioned.

I had a crash to desktop just now after installing the LED Flashlight mod, but not before it.
