I want to do Manhunt on Left 4 Dead 2
Y'all know the Dream? Its creator of the "Manhunt" idea.
Basically, manhunt fully was designed for Minecraft. One player speedruns and beats the game and meanwhile, other one or two (that would can be change) player trying to hunt that player down.
This means someone trying to beat the game, and others gonna kill him before he/she beats the game.
I got tired of playing the same mods all the time in Left 4 Dead 2 (custom mods too :D) and then I thought of an mod idea to make, and I explain to you. I have 0% knowledge about BTW modding and I do not have a good enough pc to learn, etc. So I share my opinion for those who want to design mods but cannot find an idea :)
One or more player will try to beat the campaign. Others gonna try to kill him.
Special Infected spawn ratio, tank health, common limit etc things is reduced.
Friendly fire will be OFF for hunter team.
Friendly fire will be OFF for speedrunner team too.
So that means if you are in hunter team, you cannot hurt your other hunter teammates.
Elevators, etc panic events wont require "wait for all players" so speedrunner will be run without them.
Example at hard rain part 3, elevator part when speedrunner calls elevator, and it rides and uses elevator, hunters cannot go farther anymore right? So my idea is that elevator can be call multiple times. (Problably we will at least smally increase these elevators speed.)
At the finale maps which you need to defend, you will focus to zombies, and also hunters too. When you killed one hunter, it will respawn in 30 seconds at saferoom (start base) so you can get a time from it.
At the rescue vehicle comes, speedrunnes must go the vehicle, like elevators when speedrunner entry to it game will end (vehicle wont wait hunters) and speedrunner will be win.
Dont forget about zombies will attack to both team.
I think maybe we cannot do that but, if we manage to connect all maps without loading part. It will better. Speedrunner will entry to saferoom, he/she will close the door and heal himself/herself etc things then he/she will resume the journey.
Etc changes.
So there should be more fixes but think about it. How cool that idea? Bad? Good? I think it will pretty cool for that game.
I wanna warn this again this is not project this is just IDEA FOR THOSE WHO KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A MOD :)

Honestly? this idea is pretty decent, not a good one, and it requires a lot of work to be done (and Manhunt is not an idea either made by Dream or just for Minecraft, he did make it popular tho).

The default versus gamemode is already a Manhunt by itself, all it needs is a time counter and if you die before reaching the saferoom, you cant play anymore, and there you go, Manhunt.

Now special infected spawn ratio, Tank health and common infected can be reduced, but a good 4 Survivor team can speedrun a map really fast without reducing anything, if youre taking 7 Special Infected VS 1 Speedrunner, then that would be unique, fun and hard, but the thing is, Smokers, Jockeys, Chargers and Hunters can stop the speedrunner pretty easily, so that becomes WAY too hard.

I think it would be fair if all Special Infected spawned as only Hunters that can only run and scratch the Speedrunner.

Now the things that you said about the elevator being faster, the maps being all connected and the panic events no longer needing "wait for all players", those are impossible to do, they would require you to edit the entire map for that to happen, so no.
