Can I block steam group servers ?

Recently a group server called skyrpg classic pops up when i start my game, i'm not in that group nor i want to play it, i only play with friends and using official servers, seeing a leech server in your main menu is really annoying

Funnily enough someone keeps an updated repo on their servers so you can block them. Unfortunately the readme is in chinese though :/

Also the new skyRPG group ID is 35902089 , figure it's fair play since sky's been leeching off unaffiliated groups for years now.

Means it is about survival servers. Everyone know survival servers is for kids, to learn to aim, before they play 4 v 4, 8 v 8 or for real deal gamers 12 v 12. I' am fine with all o.c, but prefer 12 v 12. Just PRO style.

It's not a lie because I did the exact same thing years ago when I wanted to be banned from your servers. I politely asked, and then one of your administrators (probably LEaver) deleted that comment and didn't ban me. You forced me to crash your servers to get banned. It's as simple as that.

To go further, I even apologised for doing that when your moderator, Sir. Death (or something like that) came here to find a resolution. Nobody here wants to fight with you.

Unfortunately disabling these is not supported in the official game. Maybe in the distant future we can see about Valve adding a toggle.

I'd recommend subscribing to one of the many "Steam Group Server removal" Workshop addons which will remove it from visibility -- if you monitor your network traffic the IP's will still be queried, though.

Malicious people can use the XML trick to get the group id, so can set on their servers and bond the server to the group (or several groups)

I think you can block them either by using Peer Block or through firewall, because for blocking Pinion servers all you had to do was to block their domains through the hosts file and call it a freaking day

Actually i solved my problem, the thing is i didn't answer because as you can see this post got out of my hands lol but yeah the answer was deleting all your groups like most of the people here said, but i deleted one by one until if found the culprit, it was a group called 10+ games collector, i joined that group when i was a newbie using steam, luckily it was only 1 group, because as far as i know the same leech servers can be found in several groups, but yeah thanks for your answer

There is a guide actually for this game where you can find some groups with leech servers so you can avoid them

Yes i found the culprit it was a group with more than 10k people so this is probably what happened

We don't even wonder why you keep showing up with such posts in a public forum. This is because you have a non acepted disease.

Your servers are literal cancer garbage in contrast to vanilla and T1 configs. If someone destroys your servers, I would gladly pay them for doing such a service to this community. Nobody should be having such a [edited] and twisted L4D2 experience and then proceed to take it as a normal thing.

I think I might just be retarded. But hard to tell. Tested with another server group and I could still connect directly to their servers.

Also tried Norton firewall settings (all combination of inbound, outbound, in&out), and moved the rule to the top of the list, and it still wouldn't block the server.
