Boomer vomit

Are there any mods that remove both the sound and effect of boomer vomit? My gf has emetophobia (fear of sick) but I want to show her this game. Only mods I've found remove the onscreen effect, the sound is important too.

To remove vomit music
1. go to Left 4 Dead 2 > left4dead2 > sound > music > terror

2. Replace "pukricide.wav" with blank wav file

P.S. You might want to replace "pukricidehit.wav" in "music > tags" aswell

It's better than not being able to play the game at all.

In a way it can be seen as cheating, but to a veteran player boomer bile is harmless and a very minor inconvenience, being as I literally survive every bile attack with no damage from the horde. In fact of all the special zombies, boomers are jokes.

Hell in some situations you can even use a boomer's attack to clear an area of zombies intentially by letting one of your team mates or yourself get hit with the bile, and then the others kill all zombies that approach said player. Its a great expert mode strategy for areas like woods where there are a lot of zombies that are difficult to see

On the flilp side FFlen's girlfriend would be able to play and enjoy the game, so in short shes not missing much

If she cant handle l4d2 because of a blury green screen and some not overly graphic sound effects thats very concerning.

there's way more direct references to sickness in this game than that. Your friend is going to have a hard time from start to end. No mod is going to remove all of that.

Yeah, like how commons that haven't seen a survivor yet, can often just randomly puke.
The "zombies" in this game are actually just infected people with some radical virus.

There are different severities that can trigger people. Some green water in a jar might not trigger a phobic reaction. Seeing a common throw up might not trigger it if it's blood or doesn't have a sound attached.

It can depend heavily on the person.

How do you even know if OP have a GF? You can’t just take their word for it. And if he does, then L4D2 isn’t a game for her at all. Removing vomiting and sound effect won’t really change a thing. If she have a phobia of sick, then she need to overcome it, like any phobia

Oh so this is the mod people use when it seems boomer bile does absolutely nothing to someone, as in they have the exact same awareness of their situation as if they weren't boomed.
