Its also good if someone on the team also carrys a Molotov.
wish i could say the same iv had meany freindly fires because someone runs infront of me for no reason
Save your biles for events. You'll need them for the harder events like map 4 of Dark Carnival or map 4 of Dead Air. Don't waste them, and thing about them long term in a campaign.
Use mods or have at least 2 other people to stop griefers. Griefers or trolls will quickly ruin your run and discourage you from playing. Any mods that give you admin should do. You won't use mods like this to cheat, just to stop griefers and trolls. That, and it makes them easy to expose and block.
Communication goes a long way. Preferably mics. Mics let you continue to move and shoot on the fly, and can give information quickly by using your ears. Something you're already using as L4D2 is heavily reliant on audio cues.
Stick together, but go fast. Remember item spawns, and potential ones in parts of the map. The less time you waste, the less hordes, and the quicker you'll go.
These are just a few, but I have more. Just ask.
as for any stratigy if your playing advance you probibly know most of em anyways do the same as advance but just expect mistakes to be way more punishing
just to note the main changes:
-Freindly fire damage is heavily incressed
-tank has 8k hp (its the same as advance and deals 100 on hit (instantly incaping a player)
3 hits by the tank while incaped will be enough to kill you (so avoid leaning it near to other players)
also i swear for some reason tanks feel like they have more hp on expert despite being the same ammount as advance. (maybe he has damage resitince on expert or something)
-witches Will instantly kill a player when disturbed
commons deal 10-20 damage (instead of 5-10) so Yea you can only withstand half the ammount of hits in advance
(while all special infected deal more damage ofc Commons are the most dangerous change imo)
learn the maps well and know the locations of loot, where to loop the witch/tank, where most specials come from, and understand hordes of common will rush from behind the most. Clear rooms slowly do not rush them, Green tanks can be used to distract in a pinch, white tanks are for bile common clearing or tank stalling, red cans for horde defense. Keep ears open for musical cues that will alert you for what is ahead. Know when your team is doomed and attempt an rush if you know there is an chance for get into the safehouse; don't rush if there is a stalling panic event that will force you to stay put for a few mins when an tank is coming; instead loop the tank until your team respawns, clear out any commons before the tank shows and keep an keen ear out for specials.
True like if someone is Spamming a shotgun PLEASE DONT GO CLOSE OR INFRONT OF THEM
Having someone carry a defib or at least pay attention to where they spawn is a good idea as the chances of someone dying on Expert is fairly high.
Common Infected hit MUCH harder than they do on Advanced: 20 in the front and 10 in the back. A small group can have you on the ground faster than you can blink. Special Infected damage is also incredibly high. Stay away from Hunter's at all costs as their claw attack deals 40 damage and they have a nasty habit of hitting you even as they are staggering from being shoved or dead stopped.
Due to the sheer amount of damage all infected can deal as well as the extreme damage you can take from friendly fire microphones are borderline mandatory. If a hunter pounces you and no one notices you'll be dead before you can type out a call for assistance.
If you or or teammates are approaching a safe room and are black and white it is a solid tactic to have you or them killed before entering. You'll then respawn in the next area with fifty health and can hold out on using a health kit longer as your downs will have reset. This is also a valid strategy if you are low on health kits but there is more than one defib in the area. Murdering the person in black and white then shocking them back to life can be a valid strategy to prolong needing to use what health kits you have left.
Save health kits for black and white. Can't emphasis this enough.
Tanks are extremely good at cutting you off on Expert, to the point if you are not running in a straight line away from one they'll catch you and incap you in a single hit. Two more hits and you are officially dead. Have someone carry a molotov just for the tank.
If you somehow manage to piss off a witch make a beeline for the nearest ladder and climb up a healthy distance away from the ground (about 2-3x as survivor's height). The witch will then run around below while your teammates can hose her down with impunity. Be sure to be a good distance up off the ground as the witch has excellent reach with her finger nails.
Do not loiter and do not go exploring. The time between hordes and special infected spawns is very short on Expert with the Director being absolutely merciless.
If you had not done it yet with Advanced, turn captions on. Doing so will help in alerting you of incoming hordes, witches, tanks, and special infected spawns. Not a complete guarantee, but will be an additional safety net of sorts.
