In fact, he has fully opened my eyes with all the good decisions and how active left 4 dead 2 continues and that already makes me deeply happy.
The OP doesn't seem to know that concept in business.
"Early Adopters" will pay because there's excitement in being first (for some).
Whenever Apple has a "new" iPhone some people can't wait to have it.
Others don't see any improvements that warrant the increased cost.
Same here.
Appealing to early adopters with respect to savings is a lost cause.
You don't understand them if that's the approach. They don't care about $60.
And that's the fascinating part of all these posts.
People with no understanding of business (certainly not software) are making emotional appeals based on THEIR preferences (not the preferences of their audience).
Yet, the emotional appeals continue. (^.^)
"I can't spend $60 so you shouldn't!"
You won't sell an idea to an audience you don't understand. Wasted energy.
were all broke as a joke, but steam always has our backs with a 75-90% discount.
but the issue is having 500 games in your steam library, and only enough time to play 1. which is the funny thing about the "gaming addiction" epidemic.
people fork out 65-200$ for abominations from triple A scam devs, and are hugely dissapointed when they realize, the game stinks hard.
i hate how we cant rreall get refunded for half the garbage we buy from the game industry, its all digital marketplaces now, just a shell of a game, sold to you to sell more mtxs to you that you honestly dont need. indie is the future, or retro i guess.
however,
b4b has potential w/ patches.
imo w/ 1500+/hoursPlayed, b4b is not at $60 game $40 max as a lot of content in b4b is recycled l4d sequences and WorldWarZ and other's work. Honestly it's like I was playing WorldWarZ 2 then a "Spiritual successor" to l4d.
I got some shocking news for you.
But you're judging a game based off of the beta release, which was intended to be only a small taste of the game as well as a attempt to find and punch out any balance issues and bugs that may have hidden in the game. The Beta's length is only 8 of the 16 levels of the first "Act" (or campaign) and there's expected to be more come the full release. 3 of such acts at least in fact, assuming they don't break the acts down to combat some of the issues that spawned with such a long campaign length.
Plus.... it was a beta. it's not going to be perfect. And a ton of bugs and exploits were discovered, hence the purpose of such a thing. (Racist zombies due to unlucky sound mixing, zombies deciding not to spawn at the finale, bots setting off stuff at unwelcome times, etc.) And unlike most early-access games, it didn't just sell the beta and try to leave it at that, to its credit. So with any luck and logic, they will have fixed most of those issues by full release of the game.
Also sorry to say but..... game devs need to eat. And game development isn't cheap. so 60 for a video game is reasonable these days. Especially in a era where a video game can sink more hours into your day then a movie. And we are already having a bit of a problem going on due to a indie game dev being forced to leave the industry indefinitely (hopefully not) due to people exploiting the 2 hour refund policy on steam to get their money back despite it being a good game. No more need to fuel the flames further with a skewed idea on modern video game costs.
