This is what you don’t get, mate. Competition does not equal you have to be in a tournament every single time. Competition is exclusive of prize money and tangible rewards. Please for all our sakes, go to the dictionary and read up the definitions.
This is an incredibly selfish attitude, no thought for the other 7 trying to get a good match.
Why does a prize need to be there for comeptition?
Cometition means to compete against others. A prize has noting to do with it. The act of competing is the reward for a lot of people. Dont need no carrot on a stick to enjoy it more.
Anyway, here. In case you’re still confused:
A tournament need not be ongoing in order for there to be a competition. You have the two terms mixed up as the same thing when they are not. A competition needs to be there in order to have a tournament, but a tournament need not be there in order to have a competition.
If you want a competition, you need to join a competition first. Not just casually play a game.
You need to sight up, pay money, get sponsorship. All those things. If you do not have a sponsor, or are not part of a leageu, it is just a game. Without any form of serious competition.
Actually it may be a tad more intense than just that since I often get anxiety on if I am doing well enough or not, as opposed to Campaign where I don’t care too much. Especially applies when playing as Infected.
Versus is a competitive game mode. The description literally says that and the server even shuts down if there isn’t at least one player on both sides. If you disagree, go take it up with Valve. That’s not my problem anymore.
It is not a competition, because there is a competative factor in it. Players are not even in a league.
• two teams
• one winner and one loser
= competition
Doesn’t have to be a tournament ongoing or even matchmaking.
