Opinions on the SCAR-L (AKA; burst rifle, desert rifle)
I've heard some "mixed" opinions on this thing, I don't think it's that bad and is a fun alternative to the other ARs. I wish the reload speed was faster though. In fact here is an (probably) unpopular opinion, I think all the weapons are good, some better than others, and I think they are all fun and have their moments. Except the pitchfork that thing is garbage.

I only use it if there is literally nothing else. The uzi's are better than that thing. It's only benefit is the perfect crouch accuracy.

I use it in survival if there is a Scar sitting next to me for quick reloading. That way it has the most dps in the game, without the reload is just atrocious causing the dps to sink to C-tier. I sometimes use it for fun, the acc is amazing, good for specials.

Its the best AR against specials imo the accuracy is unbeatable.

For me SCAR is best used for "sniping" SI from a distance, those burst fire is pretty accurate, SCAR is also the best rifle for "rushing" crescendo gauntlet event since those burst fire helps head hunting hordes that line up, making multiple headshot easier with one trigger pull (eg: Barns in Dark Carnival and Bus Depo in The Parish)

It comes with a price of "longer" reload time and "uneasy firing when surrounded"
definatly old enough

I never liked burst fire weapons in any games and Scar in l4d2 is no exeption. I would rather prefer smgs than Scar. However, I wish that in the future the add a semi auto mode so you can switch between burst and semi mode whenever you wish. Maybe then, I would start using it

That sounds cool! I have two balance ideas. As you said, 2 fire modes, the sg553 has one, why not the scar? However I would buff the reload speed only slightly to make it similar to the sg553. Or the boring second idea is just a faster reload speed to be on par with the other ARs. Maybe shorter intervals between bursts? I don't know, could be interesting.

L4D2 most likely will not be updated again due to how poorly The Last Stand was received by the community and implemented into the game. If L4D2 does get updated again they definitely won't be changing the core mechanics of any weapons.

Not a bad suggestion. Here's my list of all assault rifles:

-Sg552: Decrease mag size to 30 but increase damage from 33 to 45
-M16: Increase reserve ammo to 500
-AK-47: leave it as it is
-Scar: mentioned above

Valve does not care if an update is well recieved, all they see is that more players are now playing the game than before the update which will probably result in good news for us.

The update team said that they will overhaul the weapons if they get a chance to work on another update and they will probaly do that to scar because it's the least used assault rifle. Same as awp and scout

TLS may have brought some people back to the game. But after a month of TLS we're already getting close to pre-TLS player counts. Valve will most likely have the game for free for christmas like they usually do and that'll show another spike in players a short while but it won't last long. I'll bet by February we'll be at pre-TLS numbers once again.

Talking about weapon mechanics though if you start changing how the weapons in the game work you will drive off the old players who actually loved playing L4D2 how it is for the last 10 years. TLS did hardly anything for L4D2 except add a bunch of weapons nobody asked for, put Tank spawns in the STUPIDEST most unfair places and making the ai MASSIVELY worse... Seriously, I have never seen Survivor bots just stare at a Charger destroying a teammate right in front of them so often until post-TLS. Making the old passionate players leave the game to attract "tourists" is a great way to officially kill off the game.

All the guns and weapons in the game each have their own strengths and weaknesses that you discover by playing the game and using them. CSGOifying all the weapons and constantly changing them WILL kill this game for good. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure people have good intentions and just want to make the game "better" in their own eyes.. But changing the core things in the game isn't the way to do it... the Workshop was created for a reason.

Sir, I respect your opinion, but please refrain from an argument and changing the subject of this discussion.

33 to 45? Would that be a little too good with its fast firing speed?
