It comes with a price of "longer" reload time and "uneasy firing when surrounded"
L4D2 most likely will not be updated again due to how poorly The Last Stand was received by the community and implemented into the game. If L4D2 does get updated again they definitely won't be changing the core mechanics of any weapons.
-Sg552: Decrease mag size to 30 but increase damage from 33 to 45
-M16: Increase reserve ammo to 500
-AK-47: leave it as it is
-Scar: mentioned above
The update team said that they will overhaul the weapons if they get a chance to work on another update and they will probaly do that to scar because it's the least used assault rifle. Same as awp and scout
TLS may have brought some people back to the game. But after a month of TLS we're already getting close to pre-TLS player counts. Valve will most likely have the game for free for christmas like they usually do and that'll show another spike in players a short while but it won't last long. I'll bet by February we'll be at pre-TLS numbers once again.
Talking about weapon mechanics though if you start changing how the weapons in the game work you will drive off the old players who actually loved playing L4D2 how it is for the last 10 years. TLS did hardly anything for L4D2 except add a bunch of weapons nobody asked for, put Tank spawns in the STUPIDEST most unfair places and making the ai MASSIVELY worse... Seriously, I have never seen Survivor bots just stare at a Charger destroying a teammate right in front of them so often until post-TLS. Making the old passionate players leave the game to attract "tourists" is a great way to officially kill off the game.
All the guns and weapons in the game each have their own strengths and weaknesses that you discover by playing the game and using them. CSGOifying all the weapons and constantly changing them WILL kill this game for good. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure people have good intentions and just want to make the game "better" in their own eyes.. But changing the core things in the game isn't the way to do it... the Workshop was created for a reason.
